We're attacking 11 games with tonight's MLB DFS slate!

Sonny Gray is expected to make his Cardinals debut tonight after starting the season on the Injured List. While I won't recommend starting Gray, he pitched very well last season and could do some big things throughout the year. We'll keep an eye on Gray tonight to see how he fares against the Phillies.

Meanwhile, I'll touch on some other intriguing spots that you should absolutely consider for your DFS lineups below.

MLB Weather Today, April 9

New York Mets vs. Atlanta Braves

  • There's heavy rain, but it's expected to slow down by the evening in Atlanta. This game could be a late start, but ultimately, expect the Mets and Braves to play tonight.

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Minnesota Twins

  • There could be a downpour in Minnesota. However, the chances of a downpour near the stadium are slim to none.

MLB DFS Lineup Construction Thoughts

There are ultimately many spots where you can put stacks together to fade a pitcher. You'll either have to go with your gut or make multiple lineups to have exposure to all of the potential stacks you can make tonight.

With today's 11-game slate, there's plenty of variety, and it's unlikely any players in your lineup will have super high ownership.

Core MLB DFS Pitchers

Tyler Glasnow, Los Angeles Dodgers

Tyler Glasnow is already 2-0 in three starts for the Dodgers this season. He holds a 3.18 ERA and has given up a .88 WHIP in 17 innings. While most stats look good, he's only added 15 strikeouts in 17 innings pitched. That's unlike Glasnow, who struck out 33.1% of batters last season.

The good news is that Glasnow is facing a Minnesota lineup that has struck out 26% of the time against righties since last year. Only Carlos Santana has struck out fewer than 21% of the time against righties. But he's also struck out nearly 19% of the time. If there's a game where Glasnow gets back to racking up the strikeouts, it's this one.

Nathan Eovaldi, Texas Rangers

Nathan Eovaldi has already started two games for the Rangers. He's allowed a 1.38 ERA and a WHIP of .77 in those two games. He'll face the Oakland Athletics tonight. Since last season, they have struck out at a ridiculous rate against righties.

The projected lineup has literally struck out 26.1% of the time against righties using 2434 plate appearances from the projected starting nine. While Eovaldi isn't a high strikeout pitcher, his numbers should increase tonight.

He also held opponents to a .146 ISO and wOBA of .293, with more than 51% of grounders and just 7.7% of walks. He's typically consistent on the mound. Try to fit him into your lineups if you can.

Cristian Javier, Houston Astros

Christian Javier won't be in many lineups tonight. However, he's facing a Royals squad that is expected to send more righties than lefties against Javier. Last year, Javier struck out 28.1% of righties and held righties to a wOBA of .280.

Javier hasn't allowed a single run in two games this year and has struck out nine batters in 11 innings while holding a WHIP of 1.00. Meanwhile, the Royals' projected lineup has struck out 20.8% of the time against righties with four batters with a strikeout rate of at least 23.3%. I wouldn't be surprised if Javier put together another quality start and added six or more strikeouts against the Royals tonight.

Aaron Civale, Tampa Bay Rays

Aaron Civale is pitching like some of the elite starters but isn't getting priced like it. Civale has already made two starts. In those two starts, he has a 1.50 ERA, 14 strikeouts in 12 innings, and a .92 WHIP.

While this might seem surprising, Civale held batters to a .127 ISO and wOBA of .291 in 504 plate appearances last year. He also recorded 23% strikeouts and only 6.5% walks. Somehow, Tampa Bay knows how to fix pitchers and create aces out of them.

Recommended MLB DFS Hitters

Highest Expected Run Totals

Core MLB DFS Hitters

Aaron Judge, OF, New York Yankees

The Miami Marlins will pitch left-hander A.J. Puk tonight. Puk is already 0-2 this season and has thrown in just six innings in two starts. Puk has been super wild this season and getting into trouble almost every inning. He's allowed eight hits and nine walks in these six innings, which raised his WHIP to 2.83 after the two starts.

Not only has he been bad to righties, but most of his walks have come against righties, too. Due to Puk's control issues, there's a very good chance Aaron Judge will be up with runners on base against Puk. Last season, against 167 righties, Puk allowed a .192 ISO and wOBA of .327 with more than 30% of fly balls. This isn't new. Puk is bad against righties.

Meanwhile, Aaron Judge has hit a .379 ISO and wOBA of .430 against his last 81 lefties. Below all of the writing, you'll see our stacks. Judge and the other powerful Yankees' righties will be included in the stack.

Matt Olson, 1B, Atlanta Braves

Adrian Houser really struggled against left-handed batters last season with the Brewers. The previous year, he allowed a .180 ISO and wOBA of .349 against 220 lefties. He also earned under 21% of strikeouts and walked 10.5% of lefties.

This year, he hasn't allowed any extra-base hits to lefties after one game. But he still managed to earn no strikeouts against lefties in 11 plate appearances. It's only a matter of time.

With Matt Olson's numbers against righties, the Olson-Houser matchup looks intriguing. Olson has slugged a .346 ISO and wOBA of .448 against his last 557 righties. That's a massive sample size with massive numbers all around against righties. Lefties like Ozzie Albies, Michael Harris, and Jarred Kelenic are also good options against Houser. Again, the Braves are in our “Stacks” segment below.

Adolis Garcia, OF, Texas Rangers

In two starts this season, Alex Wood has a 9.72 ERA with a 1.92 WHIP. Adolis Garcia is licking his chops right now. Garcia attacks lefties. He's hit a .236 ISO and woBa of .370 against his last 168 lefties. He's also started the year with four home runs and has a .896 OPS coming into the game against Oakland.

Last year, Wood allowed a .178 ISO and wOBA of .351 to 308 righties. So far this year, he's allowed a .167 ISO and wOBA of .398 to 27 righties. Look for Garcia to make Wood pay tonight. Garcia has hit 55.2% of hard contact against lefties and has used a 14.6%-barrel percentage with 33.3% of fly balls. He'll be ready.

Mike Yastrzemski, OF, San Francisco Giants

It's always fun picking on Josiah Gray. Gray faced 699 batters last season, earned just 20.5% of strikeouts, and gave up a .160 ISO with a wOBA of .337. However, he was way worse against lefties as a right-handed pitcher. Gray allowed a .174 ISO and wOBA of .337 with 30.8% of fly balls against 348 lefties last season.

This year, it's been even worse. Through two starts, Gray has a 14.04 ERA with a 2.40 WHIP. He's also allowed lefties to hit a .450 ISO and wOBA of .603 with 52.9% of fly balls and only 35.3% of ground balls induced. Meanwhile, Mike Yastrzemski has hit a .229 ISO and wOBA of .356 with 12.9% of walks against righties since last year. Yastrzemski is a sneaky batter with much upside tonight, even if he's batting in the six-spot for the Giants.
