Cubs vs. Royals Prediction: Friday, July 26th

It’s a matchup of two teams heading in completely opposite directions tonight as the Cubs head down to Kansas City to take on the Royals. I don’t know what happened to this Cubs team, but they’ve lost it all during the dog days of summer and have scored just 29 runs over their last 10 games. Going against Brady Singer on the mound won’t remedy things either with his 2.49 ERA in the month of July.

This is the basis of me stacking up some MLB best bets in favor of the Royals tonight with some player props also added against Kyle Hendricks. The first wager should come as no surprise but it's going to be under on the Cubs team total of 4.5 runs. They’ve gone over this number just 6 of the last 13 road games and average 4.17 runs per game on the road this season overall. The next bet comes on the arm of Brady Singer, whose strikeout total is 4.5 tonight.

Given the Cubs 23.5% K rate and the fact that Singer is over that number in 3 of his last 5 outings, I will be taking the over. The final wager is on the red-hot Bobby Witt who is just crushing opposing pitching with 16 hits over his last 6 games and has gone over 2.5 hits/runs/RBIs in 5 of those 6 games. It’ll be a lot to ask for him to top the number, but given the matchup and the hot streak, the value is still good on this wager.

Rockies vs. Giants Prediction: Friday, July 26th

The Rockies have really been a thorn in my side lately as their series against Boston cost me some cash, but now, they hit the road where they aren’t so tough! At 14-36 on the road, the Rockies are really bad, and they don’t cover often either, going 23-27 ATS, the 4th worst rate in the league. So, right off the top it's Giants on the run line tonight.

Then we move into pitching where Kyle Harrison has a juicy matchup against the Rockies offense that has a K rate of 27.2% on the road, the 2nd highest rate in MLB! Harrison’s prop is juiced up to 5.5 given this outing but the plus money is intriguing at +120. Harrison doesn’t go over this number often, but he did in his last outing against Colorado just last week.

Finally, it's time to add a bat to my MLB predictions today for this game as the Giants offense loads up against Kyle Freeland tonight with his 5.63 ERA this season. He is a lefty and one name in the San Francisco lineup sticks out in splits and it's Matt Chapman. Chapman is hitting .300 against the southpaws this season with a .918 OPS to add to that. My wager is that he gets an extra base hit tonight too, so let’s go over 1.5 total bases on him and cash in!
