Saturday's one-game NHL DFS slate is loaded with top-tier scorers as the Eastern Conference Finals of the 2023 NHL Stanley Cup playoffs continue. The Carolina Hurricanes come into this game as the betting favorite again, but we shouldn't discount the Florida Panthers again tonight, especially after their heroic win in game one. Look for each team's stars such as Sebastian Aho, Brent Burns, Matthew Tkachuk, and Aleksander Barkov to play a big role in tonight's outcome. Highest Expected Goal Totals
Carolina Hurricanes: 3.1
Florida Panthers: 2.5
Carolina Hurricanes vs Florida Panthers
Players to target: Matthew Tkachuk, Brandon Montour, Sam Reinhart, Jordan Martinook, Brent Burns, Martin Necas, Seth Jarvis
Matthew Tkachuk was the hero in game one scoring the winner in the game but his DFS performance wasn't as good as you would have expected with just three shots. That doesn't mean that you should fade him today, but he does only have points in three of his last five games and more than five shots in just one of those games. Anthony Duclair was a solid value again in game one with two assists and eight shots. He is a player I would continue to use. Carter Verhague was also a solid play for the Panthers with six shots and two points. For the Hurricanes they had six players with five shots or more including value players like Jordan Martinook, and Jack Drury, as well as their more established stars such as Sebastian Aho and Martin Necas.
We saw the defensemen's results come out mostly as expected, especially if the teams didn't play two games worth of ice time. For the Panthers we should continue to see production from Brandon Montour, Gustav Forsling, and Aaron Ekblad, they will also play the majority of the minutes for them as well. With the Hurricanes we should also expect to see another strong performance from Brent Burns who had an assist, eight shots on goal, and ten blocked shots in the first game.
We saw great performances from both Sergei Bobrovsky and Frederik Andersen in game one. It shouldn't be a surprise if we see another low-scoring game today as well. I would go back to Andersen with Carolina being both the betting favorite and the Hurricanes not wanting to head to Florida down two games.
When I'm building lineups today, I am going to have a lot of Anthony Duclair, as he continues to rack up points and put shots on goal at a discount price. The same goes for Jordan Martinook. Using those discount players will allow me to get my choice of goalie into my lineup, as well as a couple of top forwards.
