Forsling already took a big step forward in 2021-22, scoring 10 goals and 37 points in 71 contests while averaging 21:13 minutes. For a player who was claimed off waivers from Carolina in January 2021, he's turned into a steal for the Panthers. Unless Florida makes another big addition, which seems unlikely given that they're already against the cap, Forsling should enter the 2022-23 campaign on the top pairing.

Forsling got Thursday's game off for some rest ahead of the start of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. He has 10 goals, 37 points, 145 shots and 86 blocks in 71 games this season. 

Forsling will be scratched along with Aleksander Barkov, Jonathan Huberdeau, Claude Giroux, MacKenzie Weegar and Sergei Bobrovsky. Florida will visit Montreal on Friday in the team's regular-season finale prior to gearing up for the playoffs. 

Forsling has been on a tear of late with five goals and seven points in his last seven games. The defenseman has eight goals and 34 points in 65 contests and deserves a spot in someone's fantasy lineup as he has taken over from the injured Aaron Ekblad as the Panthers top offensive threat from the blueline.
