Welcome to the NFL DFS Week 9 RB Coach article! Week 8 didn’t turn out the way I had hoped. 

D’Andre Swift (21.9 DK/ 21.9 FD points) and Derrick Henry (14.7 DK/ 14.2 FD points) performed well, but most of my other Week 8 NFL DFS RB suggestions struggled to reach double digit DraftKings and FanDuel fantasy points. I’m committed to being better in Week 9. 

 

 

 

NFL DFS Week 9 RB Coach For FanDuel & DraftKings Fantasy

We were spoiled last week with a full NFL schedule; however, our NFL DFS Week 9 RB Coach won’t be too bad since the only two teams on a bye are the Pittsburgh Steelers and the San Francisco 49ers. 

NFL Week 9 RBs

His favorable matchups helped, but Steelers RB Najee Harris has three straight games in which he’s rushed for at least 100 yards, and he’s averaged 5.96 YPC during that time span. Harris is definitely someone that I’ll consider rostering as an NFL DFS RB moving forward.

As for the 49ers, Jordan Mason’s time as a good NFL DFS RB option looks like it’s coming to a close. He was removed from his Week 8 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys due to an aggravation of his shoulder injury. 

He’ll have a week off to recover from his injury but by the time the 49ers play again in Week 10, Christian McCaffrey should be back on the field. It will be interesting to note how much of a workload he can handle. McCaffrey will have a good matchup against a Tampa Bay Buccaneers team that has been very kind to NFL DFS RBs.

I’ve done some research and found some other NFL teams who have also been kind to NFL DFS RBs. The following are my favorite NFL DFS Week 9 RB picks that will be matched up against them, and hopefully by the time Week 9 is over, thanks to this NFL DFS Week 9 RB Coach, they’ll be your favorites too!

 

 

 

NFL DFS RB Top-Tier Picks For Week 9

Kyren Williams, RB Los Angeles Rams - DraftKings: $8,000 | FanDuel: $8,900

Williams has a great home matchup against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 9. In their last three games the Seahawks are giving up 6.20 YPC and four rushing TDs to NFL DFS RBs. 

Williams has scored eight total TDs (six rushing & 2 receiving) in his last five games and he’s also averaging 4.2 YPC during that time frame. For the season Williams’ stats are slightly better when he plays at home. Overall, he averages 4.0 YPC when playing at home and 3.4 YPC when playing on the road. 

Alvin Kamara, RB New Orleans Saints - DraftKings: $7,800 | FanDuel: $8,800 

The Saints find themselves in a Week 9 must win road game against a Carolina Panthers team that hasn’t been able to stop NFL DFS RBs from running over them this season. 

In his first game against the Panthers this season Kamara rushed for 83 yards (5.53 YPC), scored a rushing TD, and he caught five passes for 27 yards.  Kamara should feast against a Panthers run defense that has given up nine rushing TDs and two receiving TDs and an average of 4.57 YPC to NFL DFS RBs over the past five weeks.   

 

 

 

NFL DFS RB Mid-Tier Picks For Week 9

Bijan Robinson, RB Atlanta Falcons - DraftKings: $7,400 | FanDuel: $8,500 

Robinson’s FanDuel salary is in the top tier, but I especially like his price point on the DraftKings platform. He’s been hot lately, averaging 5.28 YPC and scoring four total TDs, (three on the ground and one through the air) in his last four games. 

Robinson also has 16 catches during that time frame. I like his matchup against the Cowboys who have been awful against the run this season. They’ve been especially accommodating to NFL DFS RBs over their last three games, allowing an average of 5.22 YPC and giving up three TDs to the position. 

James Cook, RB Buffalo Bills - DraftKings: $7,200 | FanDuel: $7,900

Cook is coming off of a monster game against the previously mentioned Seahawks in which he ran for 111 yards (6.83 YPC) and scored two rushing TDs. He has a very good matchup against the Miami Dolphins in Week 9. 

In Cook’s previous game against the Dolphins in Week 2 he ran for 78 yards (7.09 YPC) and scored two rushing TDs and one receiving TD. The Dolphins have been better against the run lately, but for the season they’ve given up the second most rushing TDs (10) to NFL DFS RBs. Cook should have another big game against “the Fins” in Week 9.

 

 

 

NFL DFS RB Value Picks For Week 9 

Nick Chubb, RB Cleveland Browns - DraftKings: $5,800 | FanDuel: $6,500

Chubb played 59% of the Browns’ offensive snaps in Week 8, up from 36% in Week 7. He’s slowly building up his stamina and getting his legs under him and while Chubb’s 3.25 YPC last week wasn’t great, it was a lot better than his 2.00 YPC average in Week 7. 

His opponent, the Los Angeles Chargers, have been tough on NFL DFS RBs this season, but they’ve still allowed 4.65 YPC and the eighth most receptions (38) to the position this season. If you need a low cost NFL DFS RB in Week 9, Chubb could fit the bill.

Chase Brown, RB Cincinnati Bengals - DraftKings: $5,900 | FanDuel: $6,300

Brown has taken over as the Bengals’ lead back over the past few weeks with Zack Moss seeing more action on passing downs. Tough matchups over the past two weeks have had a negative impact on his recent stats, but over his past five games Brown has scored four rushing TDs and one receiving TD. 

He faces the Las Vegas Raiders who have given up four rushing TDs to NFL DFS RBs over the past three weeks and for the season, they’re allowing an average of 4.67 YPC to the position. 

D’Andre Swift, RB Chicago Bears - DraftKings: $6,400 | FanDuel: $7,200 

Based on his salary he’s on the upper cusp of the value NFL DFS RBs but I’m recommending Swift for a second straight week. He flipped the switch on his 2024 season starting in Week 4. In his four games since then he’s averaging 5.36 YPC and has scored four TDs. 

In addition, he has 13 receptions and is averaging 11.31 yards per reception during that time span. I love his matchup against the Arizona Cardinals who have given up the fifth most rushing yards (938) to NFL DFS RBs and five rushing and one receiving TD to the position as well.

 

 

 

NFL DFS RB Fades For Week 9

Tank Bigsby, Jacksonville Jaguars - DraftKings: $6,200 | FanDuel: $6,700

With Travis Etienne expected to play in Week 9 I’m worried about how the offensive snaps and carries are going to be distributed among Jaguars RBs on Sunday. 

Bigsby deserves to have a big role as an NFL DFS RB moving forward based on his recent play, and his salaries are relatively inexpensive, but I’ll watch the Jaguars’ Week 9 matchup against a tough Philadelphia Eagles run defense from the DFS sidelines for now.

NFL Week 9 RB Play Of The Week 

Aaron Jones, RB Minnesota Vikings - DraftKings: $6,600 | FanDuel: $7,500

Jones played a season high 92% of the Vikings’ offensive snaps in Week 8, so you know you’re going to get plenty of volume from him in Week 9. 

He has a favorable matchup against the Indianapolis Colts who have given up the third most rushing yards (986) to NFL DFS RBs this season. I love Jones’ relatively inexpensive NFL DFS salary based on his potential upside for Week 9.
