Patriots vs. Titans Predictions, Picks & Odds: NFL Week 9, Sunday 11/3
Two teams that would simply enjoy working their way to a .500 record this season are the New England Patriots and Tennessee Titans, who will be facing one another this Sunday afternoon. While we can’t get you hype by calling it an AFC Championship Game preview, we can still help you make your Patriots vs. Titans picks!
Alongside the top pick from our Patriots vs. Titans predictions, we’ll take you through a monster $1,500 BetMGM Sportsbook welcome offer, so we’ll make it a great matchup either way.
Patriots vs. Titans Predictions For NFL Week 9, Sunday 11/3
There’s no denying that both the Patriots and Titans leave plenty to be desired. After all, they have a combined record of 3-17. Of course, New England was the ones who were able to pull off an upset last Sunday against the New York Jets, who have been a storyline all season.
Even still, it’s extremely difficult to trust either team. We’re predicting a matchup without many fireworks, as despite their struggles, they still have solid defenses. In fact, although Tennessee is an abysmal 1-6, their defense ranks the absolute best in some regards!
Be sure to keep that in mind as we progress through each team and to the best bet from our Patriots vs. Titans predictions.
New England Patriots: No More Maye?
After deciding not to start the season with rookie QB Drake Maye, the Pats then made the swap to the North Carolina product. Truthfully, he seemed to give some hope for the future for fans in New England, but he was forced to exit last Sunday’s win against the Jets with a concussion.
While was able to be limited at practice this week, he still needs to clear concussion protocol. As we’ve learned over the years, making it back the very next game happens less and less frequently. It’s certainly far from impossible, and even still, the Patriots QB situation is still one that is far from elite.
Tennessee Titans: Mason Madness
Well, it’s very unsurprising that these two teams are among the worst in the NFL given that the biggest discussion topics are surrounding a revolving QB position. After beginning the year behind second-year QB Will Levis, the Titans then swapped to journeyman QB Mason Rudolph.
Although that first began due to injury, Levis has simply made too many decision-making mistakes leading to losses for Tennessee. Rudolph is no future Hall of Famer, but he led the Titans to their only win in his first start of the season and has thrown for 215 and 266 yards in the past two games.
Again, we aren’t saying their QB situation is elite by any means either, but there is some reason for optimism.
Patriots vs. Titans Odds, Spreads, Total & Betting Lines
Of course, we couldn’t not provide you with the latest Patriots vs. Titans odds, and below, you can see the lines at BetMGM Sportsbook:
- Point Spread: New England Patriots +3.5 (-110) vs. Tennessee Titans -3.5 (-110)
- Money Line: New England Patriots (+155) vs. Tennessee Titans (-185)
- Game Total (Over/Under): Over 38 (-110) vs. Under 38 (-110)
Patriots vs. Titans Predictions: Tennessee First Half -2.5 (-110 at BetMGM Sportsbook)
Before we even get into the meat of the best bet from our Patriots vs. Titans picks, we know that it may be one that causes hesitation among fans that watched their beatdown from the Detroit Lions last Sunday.
However, rather than facing arguably the best team in the entire NFL, Tennessee will be back at home against one of the worst. While they fall into that category as well, the Patriots vs. Titans odds have them favored by over a field goal, and for good reason.
Rather than targeting that point spread at that key number, we’re going to isolate the first half. As you can see, rather than it being half of the total point spread, it is more than that, suggesting that our thoughts on a strong first half from Tennessee is also a thought that oddsmakers have.
First and foremost, the raw scoring difference in the first two quarters with these teams is evident. While New England scores just 7.5 first half points per game, Tennessee scores 11 per game. Therefore, it’s not surprising to see the discrepancy when it comes to these teams’ performances covering the spread in the first half.
The Titans are 4-3 in that regard, and while that is certainly not perfect, the Pats are the second-worst in that regard at 2-6. Bettors who have backed that market for New England are now down 4.55 units, which is not something we want to see.
Therefore, we’re going to isolate the first two quarters and take Tennessee -2.5 in the first half (-110 at BetMGM Sportsbook) as the best bet from our Patriots vs. Titans predictions.
