Division rivalries are great. But sometimes the conference rivalries can be even better. The ones born from teams winning their division each year and playing each other often. There is a reason that Tom Brady and Peyton Manning squared off so often. And the same can be said for Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen.

You know it’s a good matchup when one the teams is undefeated yet are still an underdog in this one. That’s what we have here as the home team in Buffalo is favored by 2 against the visiting Chiefs. That makes our Week 11 Chiefs vs. Bills predictions tough to crack. As always, we’ll do the research and figure out the best way to approach this one.

Chiefs vs. Bills Predictions For NFL Week 11, Sunday 11/17

As we mentioned, Josh Allen vs. Patrick Mahomes has developed into a conference rivalry. Allen has a 3-1 lead in regular season games, but Mahomes has won all three playoff matchups bringing the overall total to 3-4 in favor of Mahomes. They split their games last year as the Bills won 20-17 in December, but the Chiefs got the last laugh winning 27-24 in the playoffs in January.

The Chiefs are the only undefeated team, sitting atop the AFC West with a 9-0 record. The Bills are also atop their division in the AFC East with an 8-2 record. Their two losses came to the Houston Texans and the Baltimore Ravens

Kansas City Chiefs: Travis Kelce Hot Streak

Perhaps it was the Rashee Rice injury that kicked him into gear. But, after a sluggish start the season, Travis Kelce has been the hottest tight end in football. His 91 fantasy points over his last five games are more than any other tight end and he leads in targets and receptions as well (Trey McBride has slightly more yards over his last five games).

On top of the Rashee Rice injury, the Chiefs have also been without starting running back Isiah Pacheco. But the additions of DeAndre Hopkins via trade and Kareem Hunt via free agency have helped the Chiefs machine to continue chugging along at a high level.

The Chiefs have long been known for their offense, but their defense is now also one of the best in the league. Trent McDuffie has caused headaches for receivers on the outside while Chris Jones and George Karlaftis get after the QB. They rank 4th among defenses in DVOA per FTN Fantasy.

Buffalo Bills: Which Pass-Catcher Will Step Up?

The Bills were already missing Keon Coleman, now they are expected to be without Dalton Kincaid as well. They are hoping that Amari Cooper will return from a wrist injury, but someone is going to need to step up on the pass-catching front in this one.

The Chiefs have been one of the worst teams vs. the tight end so perhaps it will be Dawson Knox? Or maybe Khalil Shakir can thrive underneath the Chiefs two-high safety looks.

On defense the Bills have also been one of the better teams. Outside of a monster game by Derrick Henry which included a couple breakaway runs, they have been pretty solid against the run. They’ve been more towards the middle of the pack against the pass, but teams often find themselves having to throw a lot when they face Buffalo.

Chiefs vs. Bills Predictions: Kansas City +2 (-110 at BetMGM Sportsbook)

I know many will be rooting for the undefeated Chiefs to fall - or even betting against them as it has to happen “sooner or later”. But the Bills are just not in a position right now to be that team, even at home. They’re missing two many key components compared to their Kansas City counterparts.

And it doesn’t matter as much to me if Amari Cooper plays or not as he will still need to deal with Trent McDuffie. The two players that would make a big difference here are Dalton Kincaid against a Chiefs team that struggles against the tight end and linebacker Matt Milano who is crucial to covering Travis Kelce. Neither are expected to play until after the bye.

With all that in mind, I expect the Chiefs to win this game outright, even on the road. The fact that we can get them with a couple points on top feels too good to be true.
