Bengals vs. Giants Predictions, Picks & Odds: NFL Week 6 Sunday Night Football
There’s a reason they say “any given Sunday”. Earlier this year alone we watched the Cincinnati Bengals, as 7.5-point favorites, lose to the New England Patriots. And, just last week, the New York Giants beat the Seattle Seahawks in Seattle despite being seven-point underdogs. That’s football.
This week those two teams square off against each other in New York. The crazy nature of the NFL and these two teams specifically makes our Bengals vs. Giants predictions a tall order for this week. Let’s break both teams down and see if there is a bet worth making on the matchup this week!

Bengals vs. Giants Predictions For NFL Week 6, Sunday 10/6
Unless it’s a “Super Bowl rematch” game, AFC and NFC teams only play once every four years. So the last time the Giants squared off with the Bengals was in 2020 which doesn’t give us much data to work with. The NFL is always churning these rosters over so teams from 2020 are often drastically different looking than they are in 2020.
The Giants so far have beaten the Browns and Seahawks but have lost to the Vikings, Commanders, and Cowboys. In a surprise twist, the Bengals have found themselves at 1-4 with their only win coming against the Panthers. Losses to the Chiefs, Commanders, and Ravens are reasonable given how tough those teams have been which further highlights how important it is to not lose games like the New England Patriots.
Cincinnati Bengals: Joe Burrow Firing On All Cylinders
The Bengals may have lost last week but their offense looked the best that it has looked all year. Joe Burrow threw five touchdown passes including two each to Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. The Ravens just had a little more in the tank, pulling out the overtime win 41-38.
At running back the Bengals have a good problem with Zack Moss playing well but a growing drum beat for the explosive Chase Brown to get more touches. Fantasy football gamers may not love it but not NFL coach has ever been upset that they have too many good running backs that all deserve to get the ball.
The Bengals have been getting crushed on the ground thus far. They recently got BJ Hill back and are expected to get Sheldon Rankins back this week so this is a crucial game for them to prove that they can stop the ball on the ground.
New York Giants: Malik Nabers Out Again
When you draft a player at 6 overall in the NFL Draft, you expect that player to make a major impact right away. And there’s no doubt that Malik Nabers has been a difference-maker for this team. So was Saquon Barkley - you still need to have a stud quarterback to win in this league.
The Giants have not given up on Daniel Jones yet. And he was able to win last week against the Seahawks without Malik Nabers. Veteran Darius Slayton and crafty slot guy Wan’Dale Robinson stepped up in his absence. We’re still waiting on the final status for Devin Singletary’s status so rookie Tyrone Tracy may need to shoulder the workload again this week. He looked good last week with Singletary out.
On defense the Giants have been middle of the pack though their pass-rush has been formidable. Dexter Lawrence and Brian Burns have combined for 26 hurries this year and Dexter Lawrence’s 6 sacks are tied for second behind only the 6.5 of Aidan Hutchinson. They’ll be without Kayvon Thibodeaux unfortunately as he recently had surgery on his wrist.

A lot of folks will say this one is a classic “trap game”. That the end result will be the Bengals winning by a field goal with Vegas pulling the 0.5 hook on us once again. But I truly believe the Bengals are the better team here. They’ve faced a lot of tough opponents and played them tough, especially the Ravens last week.
The Bengals had a tumultuous offseason on offense with holdouts being threatened by Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. That led to limited preseason work and a lot of rust that needed to be shaken off. By the time that rust was gone, the defense experienced a lot of injuries to guys like BJ Hill and Sheldon Rankins.
Now the Bengals are getting healthy at the right time while the Giants are dealing with injuries to their top wide receiver and top running back. The Bengals know they aren’t a 1-4 team but that’s where they sit right now. They’ve had their “wake up call” game against the Patriots, they’ve taken the Chiefs and Ravens to the wire, and now it’s time to take out that frustration on the Giants. We’re taking the Bengals to win this one and win big.
