There is a LOT to digest on the NFL Injury Report for Week 3 ahead of Sunday’s games as there have been a LOT of fantasy football injuries around the league. Star players, mostly at receiver, are dealing with a plethora of injuries and are question marks heading into NFL Week 3.

NFL Injury Report Ahead of Sunday's Week 2 Games: Fantasy Football Injuries

Let’s dive into this week's injury report here at Fantasy Alarm and see what we’re going to be monitoring heading into the weekend and who’s already been ruled out or removed from the NFL injury report for Week 3.

NFL Week 3 Injury Report: Quarterbacks

Jordan Love Injury Update - Knee

For a third straight day on Friday, Jordan Love was seen on the practice field. He’s practiced on a limited basis the first two days and the media is only allowed to watch indoor warmups on Friday, so nothing is certain about his participation, but it’s good to see him on the field for a third straight day. There is a realistic chance that he’ll play in Week 3, even at less than 100% as he’s been listed as questionable.

Justin Herbert Injury Update - Ankle

Nobody on the Chargers side had specifically said what the injury to Justin Herbert was other than an ankle injury. Well, that was until Herbert himself spoke to the media on Friday and said it’s a high-ankle sprain he’s dealing with. There’s a lot of pain, which isn’t great, but his status is undetermined, and he’s listed as questionable for Week 3.

Russell Wilson Injury Update - Calf

If you look at videos of Russell Wilson at practice this week, it’s very obvious he’s not going to play in Week 3 and possibly in Week 4 either. He still hasn’t progressed to sprinting and while other quarterbacks are doing drills rolling out in either direction, Wilson is sitting in the pocket. His mobility is compromised, and Justin Fields is poised to start in Week 3 again.

NFL Week 3 Injury Report: Running Backs

Kenneth Walker Injury Update - Oblique

We’ve yet to see Kenneth Walker hit the practice field this week and obviously, that’s a concern. The Seahawks outright said they’re going to be cautious with their running back and his oblique injury. There’s also this tweet from Jeff Mueller (@jmthrivept) talking about the sudden grab of his oblique after simply running in a straight line. That too, is not a good sign. He’s listed as doubtful.

Joe Mixon Injury Update - Ankle

Another day, another missed practice for Texans starting running back, Joe Mixon. His ankle sprain seems destined to keep him sidelined as he has officially been listed as doubtful for Week 3. Cam Akers has worked with the first-team offense this week of practice.

Raheem Mostert Injury Update - Chest

Head coach Mike McDaniel was asked about Raheem Mostert’s Week 3 status on Friday and the quotes he gave were “we’ll see” and that he’s “pessimistic” that he’ll be available. Sounds like another heavy dose of Devon A’chane due to this fantasy football injury.

Dameon Pierce Injury Update - Hamstring

Not only are the Texans missing Joe Mixon from practice, Dameon Pierce is absent too. Pierce has officially been listed as out for Week 3.

NFL Week 3 Injury Report: Wide Receivers

CeeDee Lamb Injury Update - Ankle

Lamb spoke to the media on Thursday telling them that his ankle was sore, so he took Wednesday off but did practice in limited fashion on Thursday. He also said he’s good to go for Week 3. Owner Jerry Jones said the same thing on Friday as he’s confident Lamb will be able to suit up.

Justin Jefferson Injury Update - Quad

The Vikings haven’t wavered about Justin Jefferson being available for Week 3 due to a minor quad injury that’s more of a soreness and once again, he was on the practice field on Friday per Kevin Seifert of ESPN.

Cooper Kupp Injury Update - Ankle

It seemed as if Cooper Kupp was headed for injured reserve but that is not what the Rams are going to do. His injury is diagnosed as a high-ankle sprain, so it’s surprising to see he’s not on IR considering it’s typically a four to six-week injury. Kupp will spend one to two weeks in a cast to help the swelling.

A.J. Brown Injury Update - Hamstring

The Philadelphia Eagles have officially ruled A.J. Brown out for their Week 3 game against the Saints after not practicing all week.

Deebo Samuel Injury Update - Calf

Another tough blow to the San Francisco 49ers, but Deebo Samuel has a strained calf and will miss the next couple of weeks. The fantasy football injuries continue to stockpile.

DK Metcalf Injury Update - Hand

After missing practice due to a hand injury, he was upgraded to a full participant on Thursday and will be good to go for Week 3

Nico Collins Injury Update - Hip/Foot

After missing Wednesday’s practice with two injuries – hip and foot – Collins returned to practice on Thursday in a limited capacity. Nothing is suggesting Collins will miss their Week 3 outing against the Vikings. He’s not even listed on the injury report.

Tee Higgins Injury Update - Hamstring

For a second straight day on Friday, Tee Higgins is on the practice field in a limited fashion as he trends in the right direction for Week 3. He said he feels 100% and plans to play on Monday night.

Michael Pittman Injury Update - Back

After not practicing on Friday due to back and calf injuries, the Colts have said they don’t believe he’s in any real danger of missing their Week 3 game against the Bears. We’ll see if that remains true as we get closer to game time.

Keenan Allen Injury Update - Heel

The Chicago Bears have officially ruled out Keenan Allen with the heel injury that has hampered him the entire season thus far.

Jordan Addison Injury Update - Ankle

The Minnesota Vikings have officially ruled Jordan Addison out of their Week 3 game with a sprained ankle.

Roman Wilson Injury Update - Ankle

After getting in a full week of practice, Roman Wilson has been fully removed from the injury report and will make his NFL debut in Week 3 against the Chargers. His ankle sprain is behind him.

NFL Week 3 Injury Report: Tight Ends

Evan Engram Injury Update - Hamstring

We won’t have an official injury report because the Jaguars play on Monday, but Engram did not practice on Thursday or Friday and seems like a longshot to play in Week 3. Even head coach Doug Pederson said he’s further away than they’d like at this time.

George Kittle Injury Update - Hamstring

For a second consecutive day, George Kittle was not seen practicing due to a new hamstring injury that he has picked up this week. With the 49ers already down both Christian McCaffrey and Deebo Samuel, this could simply be precautionary.

David Njoku Injury Update - Ankle

The Cleveland Browns have officially ruled David Njoku OUT for their Week 3 matchup against the New York Giants due to an ankle sprain.

Jake Ferguson Injury Update - Knee

After logging a full participation in practice on Friday, Jake Ferguson has been removed from the injury report and is going to play in Week 3 after missing just one game with a knee sprain.

Taysom Hill Injury Update - Chest

After logging back-to-back limited practices, the Saints have officially listed Taysom Hill as questionable for their Week 3 matchup with the Eagles. The limited practices were an upgrade after being a DNP on Wednesday.
