Fantasy Football Best Ball Draft 2024: How To Take Advantage Of WR ADP
The beauty of the current fantasy football best ball landscape is that we have options. Whether you want to do fast drafts or slow drafts, half PPR or full PPR, tight end premium or superflex – there are a lot of different styles to choose from. We are living in the golden age of both fantasy football formats and platforms!
And with multiple platforms, there is a sneaky advantage to be had. Because each and every one of these platforms has their own users with their own fantasy football rankings and that means that ADP isn’t uniform from one platform to the next. So, when we take our own rankings in our 2024 Best Ball Cheat Sheet and dig through the ADP, there is value to be had.
So, that’s what we are going to do today. We’re going to use Fantasy Alarm’s ADP Tool to look at the wide receiver ADP for PPR best ball on RT Sports and compare it to ADPs and sentiment around the industry.
Then, armed with our own tiered rankings from the best ball guide, we’ll figure out what the best ADP values are on that platform. You’re also able to use promo code ALARM23 at RT Sports to earn a $200 deposit match bonus when you sign up through us and take advantage of these discrepancies!
Brandon Aiyuk, WR, San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers use of a fullback creates a highly consolidated offense among the weapons in San Francisco. And they are all capable of monster games in any given week, which makes them popular best ball targets. Brandon Aiyuk is no exception and that doesn’t change if they do end up trading him – he’ll easily be a focal point of whatever offense he’s on. A trade could honestly be GOOD for his fantasy value.
That’s why Aiyuk, on most sites, goes fairly early – he goes as high as pick ~17 overall on Underdog Fantasy as the WR12 overall. In fact, he goes in the second round on average on three of the sites we looked at total. On RT Sports however, his ADP is currently pick ~42 overall, which actually puts him in the mid-fourth round as the WR18 off the board. If you are an Aiyuk fan, that’s a great discount to help your build.
Brian Thomas, WR, Jacksonville Jaguars
Now, there is no guarantee that the rookie takes over as the starting split end after the Jacksonville Jaguars moved on from Calvin Ridley. But that’s the idea. They selected the 6’3” Thomas in the first round as he has the prerequisite size to play on the outside from day one.
Pairing him with Trevor Lawrence creates tantalizing upside in all formats, really – best ball, redraft and dynasty. Like all wide receivers in this article, the site with the biggest discount on Thomas was RT Sports where he goes at pick 138.7 on average as the WR53. There was only one other site where Thomas was going outside the top 120 (Yahoo).
If you check our NFL ADP Tracker, you’ll see that one site in particular has Thomas going a full 62(!) spots before where he goes on RT Sports. Wide receivers have been steamed up all summer on that particular platform so, if you are looking for wide receiver discounts, it’s really not the place to play.
Rashid Shaheed WR, New Orleans Saints
Rashid Shaheed was already a good best ball pick given his ability to break off big chunk plays. In best ball, you get all of the “boom” games and none of the “busts”. But then the Saints let Michael Thomas walk this off-season without making any major additions in the passing game.
That gives Shaheed a unique opportunity to claim a bigger role and target share alongside Chris Olave. Underdog is half PPR while RT Sports is full PPR. Shaheed is geared more towards half PPR than full PPR, so we’re not surprised that he would go earlier on Underdog. What does surprise us is that he would go 58 picks earlier than he does on RT Sports. In fact, Shaheed goes a minimum of 20+ earlier on NFFC, FFPC, Yahoo and Underdog.
You can get Rasheed at pick ~169 on average on RT Sports as the WR68 off the board, which is insane value for the field stretcher. If you want to mix in some shares of him as a Rashid Shaheed fan, RT Sports is the place to do it. You might want to start your draft by scrolling down and putting him in the queue so you don’t forget that he’s down there!
