NBA DFS Showdown Slate Picks
MVP/Captain
Stephen Curry, Golden State Warriors
Curry is the highest-priced player on the slate as he is $900 more expensive than SGA. I do not think that should be the case. Steph is great, do not get me wrong. He has scored at least 43 fantasy points in six of his last seven games and has gotten up at least 21 shot attempts in his last four games. He is a solid option at the captain spot tonight, I just think SGA is the better play at the captain spot to save some money.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Oklahoma City Thunder
As I said above, SGA is my play at the captain spot with him being so much cheaper than Steph. He may also have a higher ceiling as well coming off of back-to-back 50 fantasy points outings. He has also scored 30 game points in six of his last seven games. The Thunder are battling for a playoff spot, so SGA is going to do everything he can to get them there.
Klay Thompson, Golden State Warriors
Klay is a dart-throw option at the captain spot so to speak. We know he can go nuclear at any point in any game. He has also had some great games against OKC this season. He has scored 45, 51, and 36 fantasy points against them this season including a 42-game point outing. He should be in your lineup, either way, tonight at captain or utility spot.
Utility
Josh Giddey, Oklahoma City Thunder
Giddey is a bit expensive tonight as he sits at $9,600. His ceiling is capped with SGA in the lineup but he has still been solid. He has scored at least 35 fantasy points in his last three but hasn't gone over 40. Are we willing to play someone who is $9,600 that hasn't scored forty fantasy points in three games? I might look elsewhere tonight even though it is tantalizing.
Jalen Williams, Oklahoma City Thunder
It's hard to say what Williams is going nightly, but he is such a fun and exciting young player. I am willing to take a gamble on him tonight and hope he eclipses 40 fantasy points as he has done in two of his past five games. In his two previous matchups against GSW this season he has scored 31 and 23 fantasy points against them this season.
Jordan Poole, Golden State Warriors
Poole was in the midst of great stretch scoring over 20 game points and playing at least 27 minutes in four straight games. Then, in their last outing against Denver, he only played 20 minutes but still finished with 25 fantasy points. Let's hope he gets back to around 30 minutes tonight. He has scored 46 fantasy points against OKC this season already.
Isaiah Joe, Oklahoma City Thunder
We have seen the ups and downs from Joe as of late, and right now it is trending down. Over his past three games, he has shot a combined 1-18 from behind the arc. The sharpshooter has shot 40% from behind the arc this season so we know he will snap out of this slump soon. It could be tonight, and he could take you to the cash line at his price if he goes off.
Dart Throws
Donte DiVincenzo, Golden State Warriors
It was DiVincenzo who took some of Jordan Poole's minutes last game playing 32 minutes. He was all over the place grabbing 13 rebounds, and he went 8-12 from the field for 18 points and 44 game points. I do not expect that again tonight. However, knowing that it is in the realm of possibilities each night is tantalizing at his $4,400 price.
Jaylin Williams, Oklahoma City Thunder
Williams is a dart-throw option against the Warriors tonight because of what he has done to them this season. The last time he took on the Warriors he had a season-high 15 points and finished with 28 fantasy points. It is hard to get a read on how many minutes he will get each night with him fluctuating between 18-30 minutes. He is very boom or bust.
