Published: Apr 22, 2025
Happy Tuesday, April 22nd, we have a three-game NBA DFS main slate on DraftKings and three-games on FanDuel.
The stars are out as Luka Doncic, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Anthony Edwards, and LeBron James are taking the floor. Each series is Game 2 and they're all monster series-shifting games.
Before actually diving into the meat and potatoes, welcome to the NBA DFS season. If this is your first time reading our column on NBA DFS picks, I just want to welcome you and give you a few tips and tricks on what you should be looking for each night.
- News outlets: reliable sources that give us injury news & starting lineups
- Pace of play: who's playing fast vs. who's playing slow. Which teams get a pace-up spot (more possessions) vs. pace-down (fewer possessions)
- Usage rates: is a percentage of how many plays that player is being used in

---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
PG | Luka Dončić | MIN @ LAL Tue 10:00 | 10800 | 57.7 | 10800 | 56.2 |
Even though the Lakers got crushed in Game 1, it wasn't because Luka Doncic struggled. He scored 37 points and had a 37.5% USG, both lead the team for a wide margin. He also paced for 43 minutes before losing the final three due to blowout. Love Doncic here. Game Type: CASH & GPP | ||||||
PG | Shai Gilgeous-Alexander | MEM @ OKC Tue 7:30 | 10300 | 55.1 | 11200 | 55.4 |
If Memphis can keep this game close, than SGA is great. If they don't, well, he's not. It's basically that simple and I don't need to expand much beyond that. This game has a 14.5-point spread. Game Type: GPP | ||||||
PG | Tyrese Haliburton | MIL @ IND Tue 7:00 | 8200 | 44.6 | 9100 | 44 |
In a game Haliburton couldn't make a shot, he put up 38 DKP across 34 minutes because he had 12 assists and seven rebounds. It's unlikely he goes 3-for-13 from the floor again against a Bucks defense ranking 19th over the final 15 games of the regular season. Game Type: CASH & GPP | ||||||
PG | Donte DiVincenzo | MIN @ LAL Tue 10:00 | 4200 | 23.7 | 5100 | 22.8 |
DDV lost out three minutes of garbage time which he was on pace to close and play 27.5 minutes, which is great at 4.2K. His ceiling for minutes is even higher if he's making shots, but this game was his playmaking and rebounding that excelled. He's going to be very popular and the pivot would be to Mike Conley. Game Type: CASH & GPP | ||||||
SG | Anthony Edwards | MIN @ LAL Tue 10:00 | 8700 | 48.6 | 9600 | 46.2 |
Anthony Edwards the playmaker was incredible in Game 1. One of the most underrated Game 1 performances around the league. He only shot 8-for-22 but approached a triple-double. With how the Wolves shot the ball in Game 1, it makes you wonder if the Lakers are going to be double-teaming Edwards every time he touches the ball. If not, he could get going early and often here. Game Type: CASH & GPP | ||||||
SG | Andrew Nembhard | MIL @ IND Tue 7:00 | 4700 | 24.9 | 5700 | 24.8 |
The legend of Andrew Nembhard continued in Game 1 of the playoffs. He was amazing last year. Amazing in Game 1. Shouldn't expect anything less moving forward. His 22.8% USG was second on the team amongst all starters. Game Type: CASH & GPP | ||||||
SG | Luguentz Dort | MEM @ OKC Tue 7:30 | 4300 | 24.4 | 5400 | 24.4 |
Lu Dort is an absolute menace and although the production can waiver at times, he has a very high ceiling at 4.3K when he's dominating on defense like he did in Game 1. Players priced around him are significantly higher owned and I'm not sure any of them play more than Dort in a competitive game. Game Type: CASH & GPP | ||||||
SG | Gary Trent | MIL @ IND Tue 7:00 | 3800 | 15.7 | 4400 | 15.3 |
After seeing what the supporting cast of the Bucks did in Game 1, we should expect changes. Taurean Prince and Kyle Kuzma were absolute zeroes in this game and Gary Trent Jr. and AJ Green were good and were actually able make some shots. Trent Jr. has SG/SF elg and is sub-4K on DK. I'm good with going here in GPPs at low ownership. Game Type: GPP | ||||||
SF | LeBron James | MIN @ LAL Tue 10:00 | 9300 | 49.9 | 9200 | 47.9 |
Game 1 was not great for LeBron James. It wasn't great for anyone not named Luka Doncic. That said, he had a 29% USG and paced for nearly 40 minutes. There's a lot more to give from LBJ here. Game Type: CASH & GPP | ||||||
SF | Jalen Williams | MEM @ OKC Tue 7:30 | 8100 | 42 | 8600 | 42.3 |
All year long, Williams has been second fiddle for the Thunder and that comes attached to a 28% USG and averaged 1.26 FP/min. He was amazing in Game 1 and with all the attention on SGA, it makes things easier for Williams and everyone else. Great pace up spot. Game Type: GPP | ||||||
SF | Jaden McDaniels | MIN @ LAL Tue 10:00 | 4900 | 26.5 | 6000 | 27.4 |
Jaden McDaniels was arguably the best player on the floor in Game 1, so to think that happens again is crazy, but he is cheap. He has a massive minutes ceiling and if Edwards is going to continue to face doubles, McDaniels should get open looks. Game Type: CASH & GPP | ||||||
SF | Bennedict Mathurin | MIL @ IND Tue 7:00 | 4400 | 21.5 | 5500 | 20.8 |
The role in Game 1 was really solid for Mathurin. He played 25 minutes, 24 without the minute of garbage time, and he closed the final 6 minutes of the first half over Aaron Nesmith. He's really cheap on DK and we know what he can provide offensively off the bench. His near 21% USG was solid here. Game Type: GPP | ||||||
SF | Aaron Nesmith | MIL @ IND Tue 7:00 | 4600 | 22 | 4900 | 21.7 |
When Nesmith makes shots, he has a solid ceiling at this price. When he doesn't, it's a pretty low floor. Game Type: GPP | ||||||
PF | Giannis Antetokounmpo | MIL @ IND Tue 7:00 | 11300 | 61.2 | 11900 | 59.4 |
Look, it's obvious. The Pacers have nothing to offer Giannis Antetokounmpo at all. He can get to all of his spots and even with Damian Lillard back, that shouldn't change. If anything, his assists should trend upwards and should actually get easier baskets out of this. Game Type: CASH & GPP | ||||||
PF | Chet Holmgren | MEM @ OKC Tue 7:30 | 7000 | 41.6 | 7800 | 43.5 |
Game 1 went quite well for Chet Holmgren. Game 2 should as well. Of the Thunder “big 3” he's the easiest to get to because his price is insanely cheap. Game Type: GPP | ||||||
PF | Pascal Siakam | MIL @ IND Tue 7:00 | 6900 | 39.7 | 8200 | 39.2 |
There's really no scenario that former champion Pascal Siakam should ever be sub-7K on DK in the offense he plays in. Milwaukee is a subpar defense and Siakam is good at a lot of different things to notch FP. He led the Pacers in USG in the first game of the series of their starters. Game Type: CASH & GPP | ||||||
PF | Julius Randle | MIN @ LAL Tue 10:00 | 6700 | 33.2 | 7000 | 31.8 |
Randle has a high ceiling at this price point. He had a big-time role in Game 1 notching a 26.6% USG along with 35 minutes that included three minutes lost in garbage time. The Wolves are in a great spot against a underwhelming Lakers defense. Game Type: GPP | ||||||
PF | Santi Aldama | MEM @ OKC Tue 7:30 | 4800 | 26.6 | 5200 | 26.2 |
Aldama is very clearly the Grizzlies top guy off the bench and could be extended if Scotty Pippen Jr. gets himself in foul trouble. He'll play high-20s minutes and he's been over 1.1 FP/min this year without Jaylen Wells. Game Type: GPP | ||||||
C | Isaiah Hartenstein | MEM @ OKC Tue 7:30 | 6300 | 33.5 | 6900 | 32.3 |
In 184 minutes shared between SGA, Williams, Holmgren and Hartenstein, iHart has been great averaging 1.17 FP/min. I love this spot for him and he's amazing leverage off super chalk Myles Turner (who I like.) Game Type: CASH & GPP | ||||||
C | Myles Turner | MIL @ IND Tue 7:00 | 6100 | 35.2 | 7000 | 35.6 |
Turner looked fantastic in Game 1 because he's a really good player and plays with a pass-first point-guard that sets him up wonderfully. He has a solid ceiling, but it's always interesting to see 5 stock games and wonder if that's going to be repeatable or not. Game Type: CASH & GPP | ||||||
C | Naz Reid | MIN @ LAL Tue 10:00 | 5400 | 30.9 | 6100 | 30.5 |
Looking through the two teams meetings this year, Naz Reid has played a prominent role in all of them. He's played no less than 26 minutes and has normally operated in the 30-minute range. It's always a GPP play for me when all big men are playing because it's always seemingly a hot-hand approach. Game Type: GPP | ||||||
C | Bobby Portis | MIL @ IND Tue 7:00 | 5200 | 27.5 | 6800 | 27.1 |
Despite Brook Lopez being the starter, Bobby Portis has the higher ceiling. When he has it going offensively, he's tough to stop because he's a three-level scorer that is an elite rebounder on both ends of the floor as well. Game Type: GPP |
