NBA Best Bets Today, 2/25: Picks, Predictions & Player Props - Tuesday

The brooms were out again at the Fantasy Alarm Betting Bungalow, it was an NBA best bets sweep against the Sportsbooks. Two wins and a voided ticket as Nikola Vucevic decided to rest a game… perhaps it’s a Philadelphia thing.
Just as we predicted, Trae Young had a terrible scoring night against the Miami Heat. Michael Porter covered his rebounding prop with ease, recording double digits for the fifth time in eight games.
The tease was in play, but a win is a win, and we have a season goal to reach. Yesterday’s NBA best bets brought in +1.70 units, as we keep stacking the bankroll, pick by pick and brick by brick.
NBA Picks, Predictions & Best Bets: 2/25
There are seven matches today, with two nationally televised games on TNT.
With all respect to the other games, the talk of the town is Luka Doncic and the Los Angeles Lakers hosting his former team the Dallas Mavericks. The NBA best bets Bet of the Night takes place in that match.
Mavericks vs. Lakers Prediction: Kyrie Irving O1.5 Steals (+130 on DraftKings) *Bet of the Night
While most attention will be on Doncic, and rightfully so, the bet of the night focuses on Kyrie Irving. For more information and a Same Game Parlay for this match, check out my Mavericks vs. Lakers predictions article on WagerAlarm. For a single player proposition this is a great angle tonight.
This match has been marketed on sportsbooks the moment the Lakers and Mavericks made the trade of the century. It is going to be one of the most watched matches of the season, and Doncic’s lines continue to move. His points, rebounds, and threes have all moved up one since 1:00 AM ET.
The money is flowing in on this match, and Doncic is being promoted across multiple sportsbooks. But what about the player the Mavericks chose to build another championship run around? Irving is being overshadowed and he is the leader of the Mavericks on their quest for back-to-back Western Conference Champions.
Although this match should have been the return of Anthony Davis, he is injured and will not participate tonight. In fact Dallas has four centers (including Davis) listed as out. This puts all the weight on Kyrie to deliver with great perimeter defense. Luckily he has played with both Doncic and LeBron James.
He is averaging 1.3 steals per game this season and has an advantage of knowing Doncic’s cadence, spots, preferences, how he dribbles the ball, and more. Doncic is already prone to turnovers and Irving should easily cover this plus odds prop. Put a unit on Draftkings for him to take the ball away at least twice.
Spurs vs. Pelicans Prediction: Zion Williamson O24.5 Points (-110 on Bet365)
Bet365 is offering the better odds for Zion Williamson to go over his point line, and if you are new to the sportsbook, make sure to check out the promotional code below. Williamson is an interesting player, and it wasn’t that long ago that he was supposed to be the next big thing. The next best American born basketball player.
He has been anything but and has not even been able to keep pace with Lebron James to receive the baton. However, Williamson is a forceful scorer that few can oppose. His left hand to the rim is something every team knows is coming but only some can stop.
He has now played 20 games this season, one more than Joel Embiid. However, that is not enough to satisfy the organization or the New Orleans Pelicans fans. He is playing better though, and has played eight of the Pelicans last ten matches.
Without Brandon Ingram he is a focal point in the front court. The San Antonio Spurs will be without Victor Wembanyama and Williamson will have a better opportunity to score. Especially after breaking down game tape in their second match in as many games.
Williamson has covered this prop in four of his last six matches, and had a poor performance against the spurs recently making just 8 of 17 field goals. Look for him to improve on that number and score just over his average of 24.5 points. Put a unit on it.
NBA Player Props & Other Picks Today, 2/25
Bet365 is offering a ‘Safety Net Bet’ for a Same Game Parlay (SGP) up to $10 should it lose.
Although not much, we don’t plan on losing any of our NBA best bets today. The following SGP qualifies for the no sweat bet.
Celtics vs. Raptors Prediction: Boston -4.5 & Tatum O6.5 Assists (+170 on Bet365)
This is a teased down spread as the Boston Celtics are currently -11.0 favorites against the Toronto Raptors. As much as Toronto has improved Boston is still a dominant team. So much so they could be the first team to win back-to-back titles since the 2017/2018 Golden State Warriors.
Even with the line at -11.0 the goal is to win this wager, not push it to the limit for the spread. In addition to that, Jayson Tatum’s assists line is recommended. The ‘Safety Net Bet’ requires the odds to be +100 or greater and adding Tatum’s assists line easily tilts over the requirement.
Tatum has covered this prop in each of his last two games, and three of his last five. It was set at 5.5 but money must have come in for it to be moved up one as his average is 5.7 on the season. Boston scores 117.4 points per game and Toronto allows 116.4 points per game. Look for Tatum to cover his assists line and Boston to cover the teased down spread. Put a unit on it.
