Meatloaf is back on the NBA best bets menu everyone, and we were so close to a sweep. The Well, Nikola Vucevic was the only unsuccessful prediction as he had his worst game of the season. Eight points, seven rebounds, and only made four of fifteen field goals, a terrible display.

However, The Toronto Raptors and Memphis Grizzlies easily covered their spreads, the Raptors not only covered a +9.0 spread… they won. There was never a doubt with Pascal Siakam covering his 21.5 points with ease, once again proving ‘Two Out of Three Ain’t Bad’.

Some in the media have bashed Siakam, stating he doesn’t deserve to be an All-Star, but Fantasy Alarm spends too many hours watching tape and crunches numbers in the basement of the Betting Bungalow to buy that bologna. Covering his point prop along with the spread parlay brought in +1.75 units with yesterday’s NBA best bets.

NBA Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 2/12

Speaking of long hours in the basement, the NBA has fifteen games today… that implies every team is in action for those just joining us after the Super Bowl.

Hawks vs. Knicks Prediction: Trae Young 40+ PRA (-110 BOOSTED to +121 on DraftKings) *Bet of the Night

Pascal Siakam is not the only one who is being disrespected. Apparently, the All-Star selection committee did not believe Trae Young deserved to be a member despite averaging a double-double and leading the league in assists. That has happened to him twice in his career.

However, Giannis Antetokounmpo is injured and will not be able to participate in the All-Star game. Insert Trae Young. This is similar to an early 2000’s movie scene where someone didn’t get the memo about not bringing a certain guy to the party because all the other people didn’t want him around. Then he shows up and becomes the star of the party.

As fate would have it, the Atlanta Hawks play the New York Knicks in the game before the All-Star break. Trae Young is already synonymous with Madison Square Garden, and the Knicks faithful see him as their favorite player to hate.

Young eliminated the Knicks from the 2021 playoffs and afterwards went to the center logo to take a bow and wave at the crowd. He went 4-1 against the Knicks in the playoffs and is 1-0 against them in the NBA cup. He once again flaunted his victory at the Garden by giving the gesture of rolling dice on the center logo after eliminating them. The crowd’s boos began to reign down

DraftKings has a boost special for ‘King of the Court’, the idea being to select the player who will have the highest combined points, rebounds, and assists (PRA). If successful, then $1,000,000 is split with everyone that also chose the correct person. With every team playing, the volume of people to be correct could be thinned out increasing the dollar amount of the bonus bet.

Trae Young’s PRA is set at 40+ with -110 odds. 95% of all PRA totals are dependent on points, the Josh Hart’s of the world are few and far between. Young is no exception to that rule. He is a scoring machine, Atlanta has poor defense, and the path to victory is to outscore their opponents. He has scored 32 or more points in four of his last six matches and is averaging 11.4 assists per game.

The Knicks played a tough match against the Indiana Pacers last night, and Trae Young, AKA Villain #1 is coming to Madison Square Garden. He always puts on a display at the Mecca of basketball, and Young has an opportunity to make a statement against the 2025 All-Star Eastern Conference starting point guard. He’s going to do it too.

There is a $25 max wager for the boost, but you can duplicate the prediction and put more money on the wager without the boost to get to a unit.

Spurs vs. Celtics Prediction: Stephon Castle Over 11.5 Points (-115 on Bet365)

Another player featured in the All-Star week is Stephon Castle, whom many people have not heard of. He won the NCAA national championship last year with the University of Connecticut, and the Big East Freshman of the Year.

The San Antonio Spurs selected him with the fourth overall pick of the 2024 draft and he and Victor Wembanyama are the foundation of what the Spurs are building. He will be a member of the 2025 All-Star slam dunk contest and in the process will gain several more fans.

He is electric and complements Chris Pual, Harrison Barnes, and Wembanyama’s styles. The rookie is averaging 12.7 points per game and has scored 15 or more points in three straight games, as well as four of his last five. He is a dynamic scorer and should be slashing against an older Boston Celtics backcourt.

The projected total of the match is 233.5 points, and Castle will need to score at least his average in order for the Spurs to match Boston’s offense. Look for him to score over his average and safely cover this point line. Put a unit on it.

NBA Player Props & Other Picks Today, 2/12

Of all the matches today, only one features two teams that are not in the play-in nor the playoffs.

There is a player prop that Fantasy Alarm’s NBA best bets suggest from that match.

76ers vs. Nets Prediction: Nic Claxton Over 11.5 Points (-105 on Bet365)

The Philadelphia 76ers and Brooklyn Nets battle it out at the Barclays Center. To be fair the 76ers are only 1.5 games (and the Nets 2.5 games) back from the tenth place Chicago Bulls. There is a chance for both of them to make it back into contention, but at times they are each the worst team in the Association.

The 76ers lost to the Toronto Raptors yesterday, and even if they would have won Joel Embiid would not be playing. The man that has missed over 400 games in his career is poised to miss another one which drastically helps this proposition.

Nic Claxton recently burned Fantasy Alarm on a rebounding wager, so now we focus on his point line. The line is set at 11.5 despite the fact that Claxton is averaging just 10.0 points per game. Perhaps it is because he has scored 12 or more points in five of his last six games and has a great opportunity to do it against Philadelphia.

The game is in Brooklyn which should improve his chances as well. If Brooklyn wins, they would be tied with Philadelphia for 11th place, and both would be within 1.5 games of Chicago. Philadelphia allows 113.2 points per game and Claxton could be a big presence in the paint. He should score on designed plays, screens, and by grabbing offensive rebounds. Put a unit on him to score 12 or more points.
