NBA Best Bets Today, 1/18: Picks, Predictions & Player Props - Saturday

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander pulled a Joel Embiid and sat out in the second of back-to-back games. Fantasy Alarm discussed tired legs yesterday, but we didn’t know he was that tired…. This is some people’s MVP. No harm done, and the other two bets were just as accurate in their prediction too.
The Denver Nuggets smoked the Miami Heat jumping out early and never looking back. It’s games like that make a bettor wish they put ten units down instead of two. However two units at even odds is also a good day.
The Well made us sweat a bit, but there was never a doubt. He had 11 rebounds with under 40 seconds remaining in the game, and it appeared Nikola Vucevic’s rebounding line would die on the hook. But nay! The Well delivered with not one, but two rebounds as the Chicago Bulls tried to win but lost their fourth consecutive home game.
Still two bets, one at double units, brought us just shy of three units profit. That is always something to smile about, as the Fantasy Alarm Betting Bungalow bust out the brooms again!
NBA Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 1/18
There are six games today, none of which are nationally televised. They are all evening games, and there are projected blowouts in all but one game. One team in today’s matches is on a roll, and we take a look at their leader in the Bet of the Night.
76ers vs Pacers Prediction: Tyrese Haliburton Double-Double (+165 on Bet365) Bet of the Night
Tyrese Haliburton is not earning the national attention from the media that he did last year. However the Indiana Pacers are on a roll, and a large part of it is due to Haliburton’s performance. Indiana has won eight of their last ten games and are currently fifth in the Eastern Conference.
Haliburton has a set assists line of 8.5 with slightly juiced odds, and if someone wanted to make a wager on that, go for it. Building a two step ladder for him to have 10+ assists on the alternate line at +145 is also not bad. As always if a bettor is going to put a wager on a player to have 10 or more in a statistic other than points, it is wise to look at their double double odds.
For Haliburton it was a substantial difference, and the smart move is placing it on his double-double line. He does have games with less than 10 points but very few this season. He is averaging 18.1 points per game, and he has dominated bad defenses with several assists lately. The Philadelpiha 76ers allow 26.6 assists per game, and Haliburton should be in for a good game against a bad defense.
Put a unit for his double double prediction, and cheer for him to have 10 or more assists tonight.
Parlay Prediction: IND & CLE ML (-143 on Bet365)
The Indiana Pacers were just mentioned as one of the hottest teams in the Association and should have little to no issues against the 76ers who have lost four games in a row. The money line odds in that match is currently -390 with little to no value.
For that reason the -280 odds of the Cleveland Cavaliers is suggested to parlay with the Pacers. This moves the odds to -143 and as always with Bet365 the bets are considered automatic wins if a team goes up by 20 points at any point in the match. Both the Pacers and Cavaliers are capable of achieving this also.
The Cavaliers are playing at the Target Center against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Cleveland is coming off their worst loss of the season, and if they are championship contenders, they should bounce back with an excellent performance.
Despite the current attitude of the NBA, professionals still take pride in their craft. Losing stings the heart of a competitor, and competitors want to rid themselves of that feeling. Minnesota is a good team, but not a great team like they were last year. At least not yet. Look for Cleveland to come out aggressive, and keep the lead for most if not all of the match.
NBA Player Props & Other Picks Today, 1/18
When looking at the Cavaliers, they lost that game in their front-court who were outplayed and outmatched by second and third string players. With that in mind we look at an under in the matchup between the Cavaliers and Timberwolves.
CLE vs MIN Prediction: Rudy Gobert Under 10.5 Rebounds (-105 on Bet365)
When Rudy Gobert comes up in conversation it is rarely positive, but he is a lock for the Hall of Fame. The reigning defensive player of the year is not having his best statistical season, but is still a force. His rebounding average is the lowest it has been in ten years, but it is still at 10.4 per game.
He is averaging 1.5 blocks per game, but it is his rebounding we are targeting against the Cavaliers. Gobert has recorded over 10.5 rebounds just once in his last four games, and that was against the Washington Wizards.
Gobert is playing against Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley. Mobley is listed as day-to-day but Allen is averaging over 10 rebounds and has a better scoring percentage. If Mobley plays it just amplifies the issues for Gobert who is being used to pick up high screens and looks out of rhythm with his teammates.
Put a unit on the prediction of ten or less rebounds against a Cavaliers team that could have a blowout victory.
