Happy Saturday! While there is a lot of excitement for the first NFL Sunday of the season, we are still dialed in on baseball as we are approaching the end of the season with some exciting playoff races taking place. We have a 5-game main slate on both DraftKings and FanDuel getting underway at 7:05 PM EST. Some great matchups today from the Texas Rangers trying to bounce back against the Oakland Athletics, the Atlanta Braves getting to face the Pittsburgh Pirates, and the Houston Astros trying to keep the lead of the AL West facing the San Diego Padres. We have Nathan Eovaldi and Logan Webb at the top end of pitchers, with both being great options today, but some solid value pitchers to target as well. On the offensive side, some of my favorites to target include the Texas Rangers, San Francisco Giants, San Diego Padres, and the Atlanta Braves. There are plenty of different ways to go about building a winning MLB DFS lineup today, so let’s dive into some of my favorite value options of the day! 

 

MLB DFS Value Pitchers

Lucas Giolito, Cleveland Guardians (DraftKings: $8,300 / FanDuel: $8,500) 

I know we are coming off a blowup game where he gave up 9 earned runs in 3 innings against the Minnesota Twins. He has been extremely volatile this year, and while you definitely are taking a risk, I like the upside here against the Los Angeles Angels. 

Tyler Anderson, Los Angeles Angels (DraftKings: $6,300 / FanDuel: $6,800) 

This is a pretty boring play, but Tyler Anderson has a great changeup that can get him plenty of strikeouts if he is pitching well, and getting to face the Cleveland Guardians is always a decent matchup, as they do not have a scary offense at all. Hopefully, we get a low-scoring game here, and both pitchers can put together solid outings with plenty of strikeouts. 

MLB DFS Value Hitters

Wilmer Flores, 1B San Francisco Giants (DraftKings: $4,000 / FanDuel: $2,800) 

Wilmer Flores has had a great season for the Giants with a career-high.896 OPS and a career high of 22 homers. He has two homers in his last three games, and I will not be surprised if he can add another one today in Colorado, but either way, he should provide some solid production at first in Coors for a reasonable price. 

Blake Sabol, C/OF San Francisco Giants (DraftKings: $3,100 / FanDuel: $2,200) 

Blake Sabol has continued to provide good value for the San Francisco Giants at catcher, and I love the matchup today of getting to face a righty in Coors. He hit a homer in his first game at Coors along with Wilmer Flores, and I really like both to have big games again today.

Kevin Smith, SS/3B Oakland Athletics (DraftKings: $2,100 / FanDuel: $2,200) 

The 27-year-old Kevin Smith was recalled from AAA and immediately went 2 for 4 with a homer in his first game and then hit a double in his next. While I don’t think Kevin Smith is going to be much of a long-term fantasy asset ever, I like taking a bet at almost the minimum cost for him to keep this strong start going and provide some value today, even against a good pitcher in Nathan Eovaldi. 

Mike Yastrzemski, OF San Francisco Giants (DraftKings: $3,300 / FanDuel: $2,700) 

If you haven’t caught on, I am big on the Giants playing in Colorado today. Mike Yastrzemski is probably my favorite of them all. Yastrzemski’s season has been plagued with injury, but I still think he is a solid hitter and is coming in way too cheap for this good of a matchup in Coors. He should be a great value today along with any Giants stack you might be putting together.
