Happy Father’s Day! We get a great day of early baseball today. There is a great 9-game slate on both DraftKings and FanDuel kicking off at 1:05 PM EST, so make sure to get your lineups set in time so you can celebrate Father’s Day with some winning MLB DFS lineups! Today’s slate is highlighted by Charlie Morton, Jon Gray, Freddy Peralta, Jesus Luzardo, and Chris Bassitt. Plenty of interesting lower-end pitchers to take a chance on today as well that will give some great options when building out your lineups. On the offensive side, some of my favorite offenses to target today include the Atlanta Braves, Minnesota Twins, St. Louis Cardinals, Baltimore Orioles, and Los Angeles Angels. Should be a great day of baseball, so let’s dive into some of my favorite value options of the day!

MLB DFS Value Pitchers

Louie Varland, Minnesota Twins (DraftKings: $8,700 / FanDuel: $8,500)

Louie Varland has struggled with giving up home runs, but other than that has been a solid pitcher for the Minnesota Twins. He is getting almost a strikeout an inning and holds a solid 1.26 WHIP. Getting to face the Detroit Tigers today gives him a great chance to put up a good start and get a win. With his good strikeout potential and a good matchup, he provides an easy place to go for great upside without having to pay top dollar.

Luis Ortiz, Pittsburgh Pirates (DraftKings: $6,300 / FanDuel: $6,700)

Luis Ortiz has been up and down this season but still has good enough stuff to be able to put up a quality outing. He has three starts this season with only one strikeout, but he has had such good strikeout stuff in the minors that I think we will still see the strikeouts increase as he keeps pitching. The Milwaukee Brewers aren’t a very scary offense and they also strike out a lot, so at this price, Ortiz has a great chance to return value very easily.

MLB DFS Value Hitters

Yainer Diaz, C/1B Houston Astros (DraftKings: $3,000 / FanDuel: $2,500)

Yainer Diaz has 2 home runs in his last 3 starts. He has been hitting well enough for the Astros to find himself at-bats at first and DH when he isn’t catching. He provides great home run potential for extremely cheap at the catcher position and is definitely a great value option today, getting to face Luke Weaver

Spencer Torkelson, 1B Detroit Tigers (DraftKings: $2,800 / FanDuel: $2,800)

Spencer Torkelson has looked good at the plate recently. Over his last 8 games, he has slashed .344/.447/.656 and has hit 2 home runs. While he hasn’t been the hitter that the Tigers were expecting him to be so far, his potential is still very high, and I think he will take another step forward soon and still be a quality hitter in the majors. Even if this isn’t what we are seeing quite yet, I am willing to take a bet on him with this little hot streak when he is this cheap. He is facing one of my value pitchers in Louie Varland, though, so I would only take Torkelson if you aren’t using Varland today.

Gunnar Henderson, 3B/SS Baltimore Orioles (DraftKings: $4,000 / FanDuel: $3,400)

Gunnar Henderson is really starting to heat up at the plate now. The future is bright in Baltimore, and Gunnar certainly is going to be a star for them. Over his last 10 games, Gunnar is slashing .389/.405/.750, along with 4 home runs and 2 stolen bases. He has such a high upside in any given game, and at this price with how well he has been hitting, he is an easy value play.

Tommy Pham, OF New York Mets (DraftKings: $3,000 / FanDuel: $2,700)

Tommy Pham has been hitting great for the Mets lately. Over his last 10 games, he has a 1.036 OPS, and I am looking for that hitting to continue today while facing Matthew Liberatore. Obviously, Pham is getting older at 35 now, but he isn’t that far removed from being a very good hitter and has mostly just struggled to stay healthy. While he is hitting well, I am willing to jump in when you can get him for this cheap.
