Happy Saturday! We have a full day of baseball happening, with games going on all throughout the day. We will be focused on this evening’s games starting at 7:05 Pm EST with a 6-game slate on DraftKings and a 7-game slate on FanDuel with it, also including the Boston Red Sox vs New York Mets game at 7:10 PM, which DraftKings appears to have removed with them also playing the end to yesterday’s game today as well. Today’s slate is highlighted by Logan Webb, Zach Wheeler, and Sonny Gray taking the mound, with Max Scherzer and James Paxton also available on the top end for FanDuel. On the offensive side, some of today’s best offenses to target include the Los Angeles Angels, Atlanta Braves, Houston Astros, San Francisco Giants, and the Milwaukee Brewers. Let’s build some more winning MLB DFS lineups today, and to do so, we will need some great value plays, so let’s jump into some of my favorite value options of the day! 

 

MLB DFS Value Pitchers

Reid Detmers, Los Angeles Angels (DraftKings: $7,500 / FanDuel: $9,000) 

The last two starts weren’t the best outcomes for Detmers, but that was against the Houston Astros and the Los Angeles Dodgers, so we are going to give him a pass for those. Getting to face the Pittsburgh Pirates today should be an easy place for him to bounce back and put up another great outing, and he should have no problem getting plenty of strikeouts. 

Tanner Bibee, Milwaukee Brewers (DraftKings: $8,500 / FanDuel: $9,300) 

Tanner Bibee managed to only give up 2 runs over 6 innings against the Texas Rangers while striking out 6. He is still consistently getting strikeouts and holding a 3.32 ERA and a 1.26 WHIP. While the Phillies aren’t the easiest matchup, I still trust that he can go out and put up a solid outing against them today and is certainly worth the price with Bibee and Detmers being the cheapest pitchers I would even consider rostering today with the lower end not providing any value worth rostering. 

MLB DFS Value Hitters

Blake Sabol, C San Francisco Giants (DraftKings: $3,900 / FanDuel: $2,800) 

Over the last 10 games, Blake Sabol has clobbered 4 homers and has an OPS of 1.071. I don’t trust Josiah Gray at all today against the Giants and think that the lefties especially should take advantage of him and especially get him via the long ball, with this providing a great chance for Sabol to add another homer and if not at least return this value today. 

Alex Kirilloff, 1B Minnesota Twins (DraftKings: $2,500 / FanDuel: $2,900) 

Over his last 6 games, Alex Kirilloff has 10 hits, including 4 homers, a triple, and 2 doubles. He has also been moved into the top of the lineup over the last 5 games, and with him hitting this well should be sticking there for now. We know that he still has great upside, and with him on this big of a hot streak, this price is way too low to pass up, even with a tough matchup against Dylan Cease today. 

CJ Abrams, SS Washington Nationals (DraftKings: $3,400 / FanDuel: $2,900) 

CJ Abrams continues to thrive in the leadoff spot for Washington. Since moving to that spot, he has slashed .415/.455/.634 over 10 games. He has 2 homers and 8 steals, and he has 7 multi-hit games and only one game without a hit. He also gets a tougher matchup today, having to face Logan Webb, but he has been locked in so well at the plate and providing power and speed that, at this price, I am willing to take a bet against Webb. 

Chas McCormick, OF Houston Astros (DraftKings: $4,200 / FanDuel: $2,800) 

Chas McCormick is red-hot at the plate right now. He is on a nice little 8-game hitting streak over which he has 4 home runs and 2 stolen bases. He has slashed .481/.588/.926 over the streak and has been hitting well before this streak as well, having slashed .342/.427/.605 with 8 homers since the beginning of June. I’m very comfortable taking him at this price today, getting to face Paul Blackburn and the Oakland Athletics.
