MLB DFS Value Plays August 26: Top DraftKings and FanDuel Picks
Tonight’s MLB DFS coverage is for the medium sized 8-game main slate that starts at 7:05 pm ET on both DraftKings and FanDuel. Starting pitching is headlined by Max Scherzer and Zack Wheeler. Corey Seager and Shohei Ohtani are the most expensive hitters at our disposal. Henry Wilson is on the MLB DFS Playbook today, so make sure to give that a read when it is published, and don’t forget to check out the MLB Lineups page, Vegas Odds, and all of our MLB DFS Tools. Let’s dive into some of my favorite value options of the day and some we can fit into our cash and tournament lineups!
MLB DFS Value Pitcher
Chase Silseth, Los Angeles Angels (DraftKings: $6,600)
Silseth was rocked in his last outing, but overall he’s been very good to this point. He had scored 31.2, 19.5, 32.8, and 21.7 DraftKings points in his four prior starts and we are going to hope for one of those outings. If we can get that at this price, we will be golden. He has a pretty good strikeout rate this year with 50 in 45 innings and it doesn’t hurt that Carrasco is taking the ball for the Mets (a better chance at a win for Silseth).
MLB DFS Value Hitters
Nolan Schanuel, 1B, Los Angeles Angels (DraftKings: $3,100 / FanDuel: $2,700)
Schanuel was called up super quick after just being drafted a few weeks ago, but it hasn’t looked like a poor decision to this point as the kid is hitting .348 with two RBI and a .516 OBP through his first seven games in the big leagues. He has scored at least nine DraftKings points in three straight games and I like him in this spot against Carlos Carrasco, who has a 6.42 ERA and 1.65 WHIP this season while allowing 17 home runs in just 88.1 innings of work.
Noelvi Marte, 3B, Cincinnati Reds(DraftKings: $2,800 / FanDuel: $2,400)
Marte hasn’t set the world on fire since being recalled, hitting just .222 with zero home runs and one RBI through six games, but he does have three steals already despite that. He offers plenty of upside, especially in a matchup against Zach Davies, who has a 7.38 ERA and 1.62 WHIP across 57.1 innings of action this season and is making his return off IL today.
Seiya Suzuki, OF, Chicago Cubs (DraftKings: $3,500 / FanDuel: $2,900)
I was in on Suzuki yesterday and it didn’t work out as he scored just six DraftKings points, but he still had two hits, just without any counting stats it wasn’t a good DFS performance. However, he’s still swinging it well right now with a .361 average and 1.051 OPS over his last ten games. I am going back to the well today and expect a bigger game in this one. He has been much better on the road this year, hitting .285 with a .841 OPS, compared to .236 and .673 at home, respectively.
