Tonight’s MLB DFS main slate is a 6-gamer on both DraftKings and FanDuel that starts at 6:35 pm ET, excluding the nine games that start earlier in the day. We do not have Coors Field on the slate, so you don’t have to worry about getting exposure there. Starting pitching is headlined by Kevin Gausman, Clayton Kershaw, and Spencer Strider, which means finding value plays will be important. A nice thing about this slate is that it currently appears that we have no mlb weather concerns. Let’s dive into some of my favorite value options of the day and some we can fit into our cash and tournament lineups!

MLB DFS Value Pitchers

Hunter Greene, Cincinnati Reds (DraftKings: $6,900 / FanDuel: $8,000)

Greene is who he is, and that’s a pitcher with nasty stuff who will rack up strikeouts, but also walk a bunch of guys and get tagged for a few runs. However, he occasionally puts it altogether for an outing and is dominant, which makes him a great tournament play. He probably won’t be very heavily owned tonight facing Atlanta, but he can shutdown any offense when he is on top of his game.

Taj Bradley, Tampa Bay Rays (DraftKings: $4,000)

Bradley will make his MLB debut tonight and he is SOO cheap (on DK only, since FD doesn’t even have him in their player pool *face palm*) for a guy with the type of upside he has. He is one of the top prospects in the game. He posted a 2.57 ERA with 141 strikeouts across 133.1 innings of work at AAA last season and he is fully worth a shot at this cheap of a price.

MLB DFS Value Hitters

Vinnie Pasquantino, 1B, Kansas City Royals (DraftKings: $3,300 / FanDuel: $2,700)

Vinnie P. is finding his groove as he now has three multi-hit games over his last five games after going 3-4 in last night’s contest with a pair of doubles off deGrom. He has his average up to .289 on the season, but the counting stats are lacking due to the Royals offense being very cold. He is too cheap though and worth a shot at this price tag with how well he swinging the bat currently.

Kevin Smith, 3B/SS, Oakland Athletics (DraftKings: $2,000 / FanDuel: $2,000)

Smith has started each of the past two games and he had a solid day at the dish yesterday, going 2-5 with a RBI and a run scored. He is the minimum price on both sites and he is facing a bad pitcher in Kremer. Kremer has been tagged for 11 hits, three bombs, and nine total runs over his first 8 innings of work this season, so I’ll take my chances on Smith as a salary relief player.

James Outman, OF, Los Angeles Dodgers (DraftKings: $3,600 / FanDuel: $3,300)

Outman has looked great to begin the year, hitting .273 with three home runs, two steals, nine RBI, and eight runs scored through 12 games of action. He is simply too cheap for a player who is averaging 10.6 dk points per game thus far. Cobb isn’t a terrible pitcher by any means, but the Dodgers offense is still strong and Outman is locked-in right now.

Sam Hilliard, OF, Atlanta Braves (DraftKings: $2,100 / FanDuel: $2,300)

Hilliard has been drawing regular starts for the Braves ever since Harris II went down with an injury. He has performed well, hitting .368 with three doubles and a stolen base through his first 19 at-bats. Greene, as mentioned above, gives up a lot of walks and runs when he is not on top of his game, which is more often than not, so Hillard is a nice play if you choose to not use Greene today.
