Trea Turner, Philadelphia Phillies - HIGHER than 0.5 Runs Scored
Philadelphia is going to put some runs up on the board today, and Turner is going to cross the plate at some point. The Phillies have a .200 ISO, .338 wOBA, and 112 wRC over the last two weeks against right-handed pitching, and now they get Miles Mikolas, who has a 7.22 ERA and 6.71 FIP over his last five starts. Since August 1 (8 starts), he’s allowed 31 earned runs on 56 hits in just 49 innings of work, and 10 of those 56 hits went flying over the fence! Turner has a .282 average and 115 wRC+ against right-handed pitching this year and he’s out of this world at the moment. He’s scored a run in 15 of his last 17 games, and in 10 of 12 games this month.
Spencer Torkelson, Detroit Tigers - HIGHER than 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBI
I love this spot for Torkelson today, going up against Tyler Anderson, who has served up a .267 average and .446 SLG to right-handed hitters. Anderson hasn’t really been great against left-handed hitters either, and I think Tork will come up to the plate in some advantageous situations to get us past this line. Anderson has struggled of late, posting a 6.82 ERA and 2.27 HR/9 over his last five starts, and Torkelson has an .836 OPS and .294 ISO against left-handed pitchers this season. He’s hit safely in 11 of his last 12 games, slashing .347/.396/.673 during that span with four home runs, 10 runs scored, and 14 RBI. He has a run or an RBI in five straight, and in eight of his last 11. See why I like the over today for Tork?
Corbin Burnes, Milwaukee Brewers - HIGHER than 6.5 Strikeouts
Taking strikeout props against the Nationals can be tricky, but Burnes’ arm talent transcends this. Sure, he only recorded five strikeouts back on July 31 against the Nationals, but since that start, he’s logged seven or more strikeouts in four outings, and over his last seven starts since that outing against the Nats, he’s posted a quality 32.9 percent O-Swing rate and an excellent 13.1 percent swinging strike rate. He rolled his ankle in his last start, but the team insists he’s good to go, so I’m going to trust that, and look for Burnes to get seven or more strikeouts for the fourth straight start.
