Phillies vs. Brewers Prediction: Wednesday, September 18th

It’s the end of a series between a pair of teams heading for the postseason tonight as the Phillies take on the Brewers! The teams have split the opening pair of outings so far so in the rubber match today somebody has to break the tie. I am on the Brewers tonight as their home record has been solid at 43-30 and they will get to go against Aaron Nola who has had a lackluster September over 3 starts. 

Nola has given up 12 earned runs on 15 innings of work to give him an ERA of 7.20 and 2 losses in that span. He’s also been poor on the road all season long with an ERA of 4 and just 74 strikeouts over 83.1 innings pitched. That mixed with Freddy Peralta starting for the Brew Crew should give them a leg up so give me Milwaukee on the Money Line. 

For the props tonight let’s go back to Nola who has failed to top 17.5 outs recorded in 3 of his last 5 starts and has struggled getting strikeouts as well. The Brewers only punch out close to league average as well and their lineup has produced 34 runs over the past 5 games! It’ll take all Nola has tonight and then some so I am fading his outs recorded this evening. 

On top of that prop, I will be backing Jackson Chourio to go over 1.5 hits/runs/RBIs as he’s hitting .276 over the past 7 games with an OPS of .964 which includes 2 homers and 2 doubles during that time.
