Dodgers placed OF Teoscar Hernández on the 10-day injured list with a left groin strain.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters Hernández has been diagnosed with a Grade 1 adductor strain. Nothing official from the team regarding a definitive timeline, but he’s likely facing a multi-week absence. The 32-year-old slugger’s absence is a significant loss for fantasy managers as he hits the shelf with a robust .933 OPS with nine homers, a major league-leading 34 RBI and four steals through 33 games. The Dodgers are well-position to fill the void with Hyeseong Kim and James Outman picking up additional opportunities in the outfield alongside rising star Andy Páges, who figures to consistently bat higher in the lineup until Hernández returns.
Teoscar Hernández will go on the injured list, according to the Orange County Register’s Bill Plunkett.
This seems like an opening for Hyeseong Kim to prove he should be a part of the Dodgers’ plans going forward. He or Tommy Edman could start in center field after Edman returns, with the other playing second base. For now, James Outman could benefit most. Andy Pages will likely see most of his time in right, rather than center.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters Teoscar Hernández (hamstring) will undergo an MRI on Tuesday.
Hernández will undergo a precautionary MRI following an early exit from Monday’s series opener against the Marlins with left hamstring tightness. Roberts added that it’s “a little concerning” at the moment. It certainly sounds like there’s a chance the 32-year-old fantasy standout winds up requiring a trip to the injured list. There should be some additional clarity on his status prior to Tuesday’s contest at loanDepot park.
Teoscar Hernández was removed from Monday’s game against the Marlins with left hamstring tightness.
Hernández will presumably head for further evaluation and testing to determine the severity of the issue. The 32-year-old fantasy stalwart went 2-for-2 with an RBI double prior to departing the contest in the fourth inning. The hope for the Dodgers and fantasy managers is that his removal was merely for precautionary reasons. There should be an update on his status following Monday’s series opener.
