We’re checking all the latest Vegas odds and lines to find all the proper value, so let’s see what looks good today.

MLB Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 7/3

We’re building some really nice momentum here at the tail end of the first half of the season and that bankroll is growing thanks to Tuesday’s MLB predictions. We nailed that Boston Red Sox game in every way and grabbed some more wins via player props.

The bankroll is growing and we’re looking to finish the first half of the 2024 MLB season with a solid profit. Let’s get to it!

  • Yesterday’s Record: 7-3
  • Season Record: 290-252-6
  • Bankroll: +6.40 units

Brewers vs. Rockies Prediction: Wednesday, July 3

The books are always tight with full-game and pitcher props for Coors Field and this matchup is no different. The Rockies are throwing Dakota Hudson who continues to struggle with his command and keeps getting hit around. He’s had one decent outing over his last five starts and has allowed 21 earned runs over his last 24.1 innings.

With the Brewers posting a .330 wOBA against righties this season and a .333 wOBA with a 17.5-percent strikeout rate over the past week, our MLB best bets will take that 5.96 implied run total and look for them to hit that mark before the end of the seventh inning. Christian Yelich is just the guy to do it.

Astros vs. Blue Jays Prediction: Wednesday, July 3

From a full-game standpoint, this one is a veritable tossup for my MLB picks today. The Blue Jays bats have been hot lately, posting the fourth-highest wOBA (.346) over the past seven days and that comes with a .205 ISO and .301 BABIP. Not only are they hitting for power but they are routinely putting the ball in play, giving themselves plenty of opportunities to score.

Ronel Blanco has had some ups and downs lately, especially when facing a lineup that is seeing the ball well. His last outing against a surging Mets lineup is exactly what we are expecting tonight. On the other side, Yusei Kikuchi takes the mound against an equally-hot Astros lineup that not only has a .336 wOBA with a .319 BABIP over the past week, but also sports a .322 wOBA against southpaws.

The Astros also don’t strike out, posting a 16.5-percent K-rate against lefties this season. They should be able to work the count, drive up the number of pitches Kikuchi throws and chase him earlier than the Jays would probably like. From there, the bullpens take over and it’s anyone’s game in that regard, so let’s just focus on some pitcher props for this one.

Tigers vs. Twins Prediction: Wednesday, July 3

We’ve got a couple of little kids on the mound today as the Twins are giving rookie David Festa another start while the Tigers have brought up Keider Montero. Both proved to be strong strikeout assets throughout their time in the minors, though Festa’s K-rate really didn’t translate in his first start on the road in Arizona.

This time out, though, he’s got a soft Tigers team that sports a 24.2-percent strikeout rate against right-handed pitching to go along with a .292 wOBA and just a .274 BABUP. Festa may not shut them down completely, but he’s got decent swing-and-miss stuff and this matchup is plenty favorable. On the other side, the Twins bats continue to dominate, posting a .343 wOBA with a .186 ISO over the past week. Montero can strike guys out, but I’m teetering on his K-prop a little too much.

I really want to take the over-4.5 but I’ll leave that up to you. I’m not adding it to today’s MLB predictions because I’m so 50/50. My decision is made easier looking at the 18.8-percent strikeout rate the Twins have posted recently. Instead, I’ll rely on how many guys Montero walks and the Twins ability to put the ball in play. I’m looking for some early runs here.
