Time to check in with the top MLB Best Bets and Props for today! The Tuesday MLB slate is here and we are back to a full 15 games from which to choose. The Vegas odds and lines are continuously changing so we want to attack the slate early today before the books tighten up.

We have some solid starting pitching to look at as Mitch Keller looks to assert his dominance over the St. Louis Cardinals, Tarik Skubal is tasked to face a hot-hitting Minnesota Twins team and we have a tremendous pitchers’ duel later tonight with George Kirby and Grayson Rodriguez squaring off in Seattle. We also have a lot of mediocrity on the mound and with Coors Field in play we should see some runs scored tonight as well. Should be a fun slate!

MLB Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 7/2

Not only are we excited about attacking today’s slate, but we are doing it from ahead thanks to last week’s surge and a quick cashing from Monday’s MLB predictions. It was a short slate with tight lines, but we hit both our bets thanks to Hunter Brown and the Houston Astros

We jumped back into the black before the weekend hit and extended our profit with a clean day yesterday. Today, we stretch it even further!

  • Yesterday’s Record: 2-0

Mets vs. Nationals Prediction: Tuesday, July 2

The Mets continue to be an unstoppable force as we witnessed yesterday in their extra-inning victory. Nationals lefty, DJ Herz, is going to have his work cut out for him as the Mets have the league’s highest wOBA (.380) over the past two weeks and they’re killing it with the plate discipline, walking at a 10.2-percent clip and striking out only about 20-percent.

If you’re wondering how they fare against lefties, they have the fourth-highest wOBA at .338 on the season. Herz hasn’t made it out of the fourth inning in either of his last two starts, he’s allowed four home runs over that span and his 1.50 WHIP tells you batters are seeing the ball well against him. I may not love Sean Manaea overall, but in this matchup, I’m going to lean on the Mets for the first half of the game to start off today’s MLB best bets.

Washington has the third-lowest wOBA (.283) against southpaws this season and their .109 ISO tells us there’s little-to-no power coming off their roster. Even rookie James Wood only managed one hit yesterday going up against a lefty starter, so we’ll bank on the Mets bats to cover us.

Red Sox vs. Marlins Prediction: Tuesday, July 2

While the Red Sox bats haven’t been as loud as they had been just a couple of weeks ago, I’m still banking on a veteran, lefty-heavy lineup against Marlins righthander Valente Bellozo. The 24-year-old had a nice debut against the Royals his first time out, but we’re still talking about a kid who’s only thrown 25.2 innings above Double-A.

He’s basically a two-pitch pitcher with a low-90s fastball and an 80-mph slider. He tries to mix in his changeup and cutter, but he’s not throwing either enough for me to be confident that he’s going to be fooling hitters too much. I think the bats get to him early. On the other side, we have Kutter Crawford whose last outing was suspended in the second inning.

I don’t normally like using pitchers who have had their routines thrown off, but Crawford is coming off three straight quality starts against some big lineups and he’s got a 24:4 K:BB over those contests, a total of 24.1 innings. The Marlins are sitting on a .266 wOBA with a .112 ISO over their last six games and continue to be one of the worst-hitting lineups against right-handed pitching. Our MLB picks today are going to attack this game throughout.
