MLB Best Bets Today, 6/7: Expert Picks, Predictions & Props On Friday

Looking for the top MLB Best Bets and Props for today? Fantasy Alarm has done all the research for you! The Friday MLB slate is packed with some exciting matchups and fantastic opportunities for betting baseball and building your bankroll.
The most exciting might be the Los Angeles Dodgers taking on the New York Yankees in what could be a preview of the 2024 World Series. Yoshinobu Yamamoto takes the mound for the Dodgers and catches a potential break with the recent Juan Soto injury. However, Aaron Judge still looms large and can change the course of the game with one swing of the bat.
We’ll study the Vegas odds and lines to see if we want to invest in this game, but we have plenty more to break down for you.
MLB Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 6/7
While we finished yesterday’s MLB predictions with a winning record, the return on our investment wasn’t what we were looking for, obviously. The San Diego Padres and Arizona Diamondbacks let us down in a major way as that 4-3 finish was just gross. Fernando Tatis almost bailed us out in the end, but came up just short – the warning track, to be specific.
We’ll take care of business on our own today and send ourselves off to the weekend on a positive note!

Astros vs. Angels Prediction: Friday, June 7
Quite the matchup here in Los Angeles as the Angels are notorious for punishing lefthanded pitching. The last time Framber Valdez faced them, he was torched for eight earned runs. I’m not saying that’s going to happen to him again, but our MLB best bets will look to the Angels to score some runs over the course of this game, and we’ll happily re-invest in our favorite lefty-killer Luis Rengifo.
On the other side, Griffin Canning takes the mound, and we know how the Astros dominate against righthanded pitching. Kyle Tucker may not be back in time for this game, but between Yordan Alvarez and the surprising Jake Meyers, I don’t see how the Astros don’t get to Canning in some fashion or another. I was teetering on the full-game total, but the 8.5 runs seems like a tough line at the current odds.
- Expert Astros vs. Angels Picks:
- Los Angeles First 7 Innings Total Over 2.5 Runs (-110 on DraftKings)
- Luis Rengifo Over 1.5 Hits+Runs+RBI (-130 on Bet365)
- Jake Meyers Over 1.5 Hits+Runs+RBI (-115 on Bet365)
- Griffin Canning Under 4.5 Strikeouts (-130 on DraftKings)
Red Sox vs. White Sox Prediction: Friday, June 7
We attacked this game in yesterday’s MLB picks and came out on top quite easily. The tide has turned, however, with Garrett Crochet on the mound for Chicago. While the Red Sox have a .317 wOBA against southpaws this season, they also have a 28.4-percent strikeout rate against them.
With Rafael Devers and Jaren Duran leading the charge, it’s a very lefty-heavy lineup and Crochet is rocking a massive 43.9-percent strikeout rate against lefties. We’re going to grab the White Sox on the money line for the first five innings as Crochet should dominate and these Chicago bats have woken up a little more lately.
Cooper Criswell has had some ups and downs already and hasn’t pitched past the fifth inning yet. A money line bet for the first five gives us the out should it be a tie game, so we’ll take that instead of the run line bet.
- Expert Red Sox vs. White Sox Picks:
- Chicago First 5 Innings Money Line (-130 on Bet365)
- Garrett Crochet Over 7.5 Strikeouts (-110 on FanDuel)
Twins vs. Pirates Prediction: Friday, June 7
Mitch Keller has been fantastic over his last five starts and has seemingly shaken off the early-season issues. He hasn’t allowed more than two runs in an outing during that stretch and has gone at least six innings in each start, including a complete game against the Angels. The 27:5 K:BB obviously helps a ton as well. With Joe Ryan on the mound for the Twins, I expect the score to stay down overall.
The Pirates are coming off a wild series against the Dodgers and while they plated some serious runs, they have also been extremely aggressive at the plate. The 25.7-percent strikeout rate shows them as a free-swinging lineup and Ryan likes to pound the strike zone. I wish he got more ground balls, but the ballpark in Pittsburgh is very pitcher friendly. Seems like a safe way to round out my MLB predictions today.
- Expert Twins vs. Pirates Picks:
- Minnesota vs. Pittsburgh Total Under 8 Runs (-110 on BetMGM)
- Mitch Keller Under 2.5 Earned Runs (-120 on DraftKings)
- Joe Ryan Under 1.5 Walks (-130 on BetMGM)
Best MLB Props For Today, 6/7: Pitcher Props
- Michael King Over 5.5 Strikeouts (-126 on FanDuel Sportsbook)
- Daniel Lynch Under 4.5 Strikeouts (-125 on DraftKings Sportsbook)
- Bryce Miller Over 17.5 Outs Recorded (-125 on Bet365 Sportsbook)
Player News
Teoscar Hernández went 4-for-5 with two doubles, four RBI, and two runs scored to lead the Dodgers to a 15-2 win over the Marlins on Tuesday.
Hernández continues to come through with runners on for the Dodgers as he drove in four on Tuesday on four hits, including two doubles. The 32-year-old slugger is up to an MLB-high 31 RBI while slashing .297/.313/.613 with nine homers and two steals across 116 plate appearances.
Shohei Ohtani went 1-for-4 with a solo homer, two runs scored, one steal, and a walk against the Marlins on Tuesday.
Ohtani sent the first pitch he saw out of the yard with a solo homer off Sandy Alcantara to lead off the first inning. He drew a walk in the second and stole a base before scoring on a double by Teoscar Hernández. The 30-year-old superstar is up to seven homers and eight steals while slashing .288/.392/.550 across 130 plate appearances.
Jack Dreyer allowed one run with three strikeouts over two innings as the opener against the Marlins on Tuesday.
Dreyer got the start as the opener with the Dodgers’ rotation thinned by injuries. He gave up a run in the first inning on a triple and a base hit, then struck out two batters in a clean second inning before he was relieved by Matt Sauer. Sauer went on to toss five innings of one-run ball with four strikeouts to put himself in line for the win.
Sandy Alcantara allowed seven runs with two strikeouts over 2 2/3 innings in a loss against the Dodgers on Tuesday.
Alcantara’s struggles to start the season continued on Tuesday against the Dodgers. Shothei Ohtani took his first pitch out for a solo homer in the bottom of the first inning. Los Angeles added two more runs on the board before Alcantara got out of the opening frame. They’d add four more runs before he was pulled with two outs in the third. The 29-year-old right-hander ends the day with an 8.31 ERA, 1.65 WHIP, and a 19/17 K/BB ratio across 26 innings.
Xander Bogaerts went 2-for-4 with a home run, three RBI, and two runs scored in the Padres’ 7-4 win over the Giants on Tuesday.
Bogaerts put the Padres on the board early with a base hit in the first to score Manny Machado from second base before coming around to score on a hit by Jose Iglesias. Bogaerts later extended the lead with a two-run blast off Randy Rodríguez in the seventh for his first home run of the season. The 32-year-old shortstop is hitting .253/.342/.364 with 13 runs scored, eight RBI, and four steals over 114 plate appearances.
Willy Adames went 2-for-4 with a home run and two runs scored against the Padres on Tuesday.
Adames led off the fourth inning with a solo homer off Nick Pivetta to put the Giants on the board. He later led off the sixth with a double and scored on a base hit by Jung Hoo Lee. It was one of Adames’ better days at the plate as he had just five total extra-base hits on the season before adding two on Tuesday. The 29-year-old shortstop is slashing .212/.286/.305 with two homers, 16 runs scored, and 15 RBI across 133 plate appearances.
