Zane Beadles
Player News
Beadles announced his retirement Monday via his personal Twitter account.
Beadles rides off into the sunset after nine years in the league with the Broncos, Falcons, Jaguars and 49ers. A 2010 second-round selection by the Broncos, Beadles played 137 games, starting 90, including nine appearances and five starts for the Falcons last season.
49ers and former Jaguars G Zane Beadles agreed to terms on a 3-year, $11.75m deal, per source.
Beadles was cut by the Jaguars after only two years into a 5-year contract and will now land with the 49ers to be their starting guard. The veteran lineman started all 32 games with the Jaguars, but wasn’t playing at the level the Jaguars were hoping for when they signed him.
Jaguars release LG Zane Beadles.
Only two seasons after signing a big five-year contract with the team, he's looking for a new home. Although he's started all 32 games over the past two seasons, Pro Football Focus ranked Beadles 64th out of 81 qualified guards this past season. Still just 29, he has something left in the tank.
Zane Beadles (foot) expects to play in Week 9.
While Beadles is listed as questionable for Sunday's game, he was able to put in a full practice Friday and the Jaguars seem confident in his ability to play through the foot issue this week. If the Jags are going to want to try and run successfully against the Jets this week, Beadles is going to have to be at the top of his game.
