Willie Colon
Player News
Jets place RG Willie Colon on Injured reserve.
This is a bit of a surprise as the expectation was for the veteran offensive line to return to action in Week 11. Colon has dealt with chronic knee issues throughout the season which has caused him to miss games along the way. The only way for Colon to heal is by rest which the Jets feel is for the remainder of the season. Brian Winters will replace Colon on the offensive line for the Jets.
Willie Colon (knee) is expected to miss Thursday nights game.
Colon will miss another game as he struggles to get on the field with the knee injury. Brian Winters gets another start in his place.
Willie Colon (knee), Jeff Cumberland (concussion), Chris Owusu (knee), Trevor Reilly (finger), and Darrin Walls (hamstring) will not play Week 4.
The Jets are already establishing who will be playing the Week 4 game against the Dolphins in London and who will not. There are no surprises here as all four players have been out all week with their respective injuries.
Update: Willie Colon will miss at least one week with a sprained medial collateral ligament in his knee.
The early word is that he will miss Week 4 at a minimum. How severe the sprain is will determine when he can return. Brian Winters and Jarvis Harrison are up next on the depth chart at right guard.
