Steven Jackson

Jackson scored his first career playoff touchdown on Sunday but the highlights end there for the veteran tailback who showed that his gas tank was all but empty after being signed by the Patriots to replace the power running of the injured LeGarrette Blount. Jackson played in two regular season games for the Patriots but averaged just 2.4 yards per carry and while New England is a pass heavy offense the lack of a threatening running game made it easy for the Broncos to defend them.

The Patriots featured Jackson in Week 17 as a tuneup for the playoffs. Jackson was signed by the Patriots prior to Week 16 but saw just seven carries in his debut. Jackson signed a one year deal with New England and at 32 years old this playoff run will decide if there is any gas left in the tank for the 12 year pro.

Steven Jackson will get some play this week after being signed earlier in the week, or maybe he won't. No one ever knows when it comes to the Patriots' running back position. Jackson hasn't had a snap since December 2014, but he is a thumper with very reliable hands. Steven Jackson hasn't had a fumble since 2011 and that probably went over well with the Patriots' front office. He should not be started unless you have 1,000 DFS teams.

Jackson recently signed on with the Patriots after they had a plethora of injuries to their backfield. Jackson will likely be behind White and Bolden on the depth chart but if going on past experience with the Pats you never really know who they are going to use. Jackson cannot be considered much of a fantasy play at this time due to the question of how many carries he will get.
