Michael Oher
Player News
Michael Oher still has not cleared the NFL's concussion protocol.
What makes this all the more concerning is Oher suffered the concussion in Week 2, and still has not been cleared. The Panthers figure to address the offensive line in the wake of this news during the off-season.
Panthers GM says he isn't sure of Michael Oher's (concussion) status for the 2017 season right now.
Oher landed on IR due to a concussion he suffered back in Week 3 of this past regular season. As of late-December, the veteran offensive tackle had been removed from the concussion protocol and reportedly beginning preparation to return to the field next season.
Michael Oher has been cleared from the concussion protocol and could be activated to play in Week 17.
Oher was placed in the protocol back in late September and has finally cleared the league's mandated concussion protocol. He could play in Week 17, but at this point, why risk any further injury? He plants to play in 2017 and will hopefully be able to put this concussion behind him, en route to a productive 2017 campaign.
Michael Oher has been placed on injured reserve.
Oher has been on the shelf with a concussion issue for the past month and hasn't shown any progress in coming back. He's struggled very much this season ranking 64th best tackle out of 77. Mike Remmers will continue to play at left tackle for the remainder of the season.
