Texans have placed Lonnie Ballentine on injured reserve.
That would appear to be the end of the season for Ballentine. He was the number three option at free safety, so his absence from the Texan secondary has limited, if any, fantasy impact.
Lonnie Ballentine suffered a groin injury against the Lions on Sunday.
He injured his groin and didn't return to the game. He'll be questionable heading into Week 9.

After tearing multiple ligaments in his knee last season, Texans FS Lonnie Ballentine finally returned to practice. On Saturday he was activated off the teams physically unable to perform list, just in time to bring a presence to a back field in desparate need with cornerback Kevin Johnson now on the IR.

The former Mr. Irrelevant of the 2014 Draft, Ballentine is on the comeback trail. He had carved out a nice role in Houston's solid defense as well as their special teams unit, but in a Week 6 win over the Jaguars, he banged knees with WR Allen Robinson and suffered a dislocated knee and torn MCL & PCL. He'll look to stay healthy to assure his roster spot with the hopes being a decent contributor again.
