Khalif Barnes

The release of Khalif Barnes comes in order to make space for the activation of Sheldon Rankins. This was expected as Rankins, the Saint's 12th round pick, is expected to make a big difference on their defensive line.

To make room for QB Joe Callahan, the Saints hands were tied as they released the veteran linemen. Barnes will likely catch on somewhere else, but it won't be as a starter. That ship has sailed.

Barnes was released just five days ago but has now returned to his former and current team. The lineman had been active for all the games prior to being released but will now come back as a depth addition along the offensive front.

After recently resigning Barnes the Saints have decided to let go of him again.
