Josh LeRibeus

LeRibeus is a 2012 third-round pick of the Redskins that spent the last two years with the Saints after the expiration of his rookie deal in Washington. The journeyman is expected to provide some training camp depth for the time being, considering Laine separately reports 2018 third-round pick Alex Cappa is still in need of further seasoning and veteran Evan Smith remains on the mend from torn labrums in both hips.

A former third-round pick, LeRibeus made it through 11 starts last season but proved he could not be trusted as a starter. It's a bit surprising seeing him get cut, but he should find a new team soon, likely serving as a backup.

LeRibeus was forced into starting 11 games at the center position when Kory Lichtensteiger was injured. In that time, he was ranked 30th out of 40 centers by Pro Football Focus. The Redskins have to hope that Lichtensteiger will be healthy and LeRibeus can go back to being an interior backup.

LeRibeus was injured late during Thursday's game. With the Redskins having very little chance to make a comeback, it's likely that LeRibeus is out for the game.
