Giants released Josh Brown on Tuesday.
Well there's a shocker. There was really no other way for this situation to play out other than the veteran kicker and alleged wife beater getting kicked off Big Blue's roster. Now it just comes down to why it took so long. Surely with his self-documented history of verbal, physical, and emotional abuse towards and of his wife, he will not be seen in the NFL again. Robbie Gould will remain as the place kicker for the Giants once the bye week is over Week 8.
Josh Brown is not expected to appeal his placement on the Commissioner's Exempt list.
Brown has been suspended for the remainder of the season. The Giants signed veteran kicker Robbie Gould last week to take over the kicking duties. Gould his only field-goal attempt and 2-of-2 PATs in Week 7.
NFL has placed K Josh Brown on the Reserve/Commissioner Exempt List.
Brown admitted to abusing his ex-wife and will not only miss Week 7 in London but his NFL career is likely over. The NFL stepped in and placed him on the list since the Giants refused to discipline him.
NFL was aware of the incident between Josh Brown and his wife at the Pro Bowl and helped his wife switch hotel rooms.
Brown was suspended by the NFL for one game earlier this year, but this past Wednesday, law enforcement reports showed that Brown admitted to the abuse. The NFL then said that they will reopen their investigation. Brown will not be joining the Giants in London this week, and they have looked to move on with Gould.
