Shepard is going to serve in a reserve DB role, as he is being signed to take the roster spot of now IR listed DB Chris Davis.

Phew, that is what must be going through Shepherds mind as he gets to practice with the Eagles. Who knows? A huge string of bad luck, hard work, and an impressive showing, could see him in the NFL someday, or, taking your order at a fast food restaurant. Probably, the latter.

This is good news for both him and the Eagles as they get another body back in the secondary that has been racking up the injuries of late. Shepherd was a 2015 draft pick of Philadelphia's but hasn't seen the football field in almost a year with the knee injury. He should compete of a nickelback position pretty easily and could move up the depth chart quickly.

Shepherd tore his ACL last year thankfully this 6th round draft pick only has a minor hamstring injury. It will be enough for him to miss some practice time but it is not too serious.
