Fred Jackson
Player News
Fred Jackson has no plans to retire, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.
At 35 he is definitely in the twilight of his career but did have a product season in a backup capacity following his signing in Seattle. He is a free agent starting in March and can add value out of the backfield in a pass catching and blocking role but really isn't a threat to do damage running the rock at this point. If he is brought in somewhere he will have limited fantasy value in PPR formats only.
Fred Jackson will remain the Seahawks' third down running back with Dujuan Harris and Bryce Brown handle early down carries.
The injury to Marshawn Lynch opened up fantasy stardom for Thomas Rawls, but his injury doesn't open the eyes of many fantasy owners. Between the three, Harris and Jackson seem to be the better plays, but neither is going to be anywhere near the pedigree of Lynch or Rawls.
Renton police will cite RB Fred Jackson for inattentive driving and fine him $175 for crash.
It was determined that he wasn't drag racing, which was the original report released to the general public. It's great that Jackson nor anyone else was injured during this and no one is expected to miss time. Jackson is the third running back in Seattle, behind Marshawn Lynch and Thomas Rawls.
Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said Fred Jackson is fine and will play Thursday.
Jackson will benefit of whatever leftovers lying about from Marshawn Lynch and Thomas Rawles. He still could see a few snaps here and there.
