Donald Thomas
Player News
Donald Thomas worked out for the Giants on Tuesday along with ILB Mike Mohamed, QB Dustin Vaughan, and 16 others.
As many teams do throughout the season on Tuesdays, the Giants worked out a group of players to see who they could add on their active roster or onto the practice squad. There has been no announcement that any of these players impressed enough to earn a contract.
The Colts have cut guard Donald Thomas.
Thomas was activated from the PUP list on Friday, but will be cut in order to make it down to the roster limit on Tuesday. He has not played since 2013 after battling a variety of injuries, including a torn quadricep that has limited his time int he NFL. If he signs elsewhere, that will mark five teams in seven years.
Donald Thomas is now off the physically unable to perform list.
Thomas has spent the last two years on IR, but is trying to start the season healthy. Thomas is still a candidate to be cut. Consider him a long-shot to make the final 53.
There are several reports confirming that Donald Thomas is out for the season with a torn right quad.
Although this is terrible news for Thomas, the impact will not be felt in the fantasy world, as Thomas was expected to play second fiddle to Jack Mewhort on the Colts offensive line. Expect Thomas to be rehab following surgery in the upcoming weeks to get himself back in playing shape by next summer.
