Daniel Herron
Player News
Bills released RB Daniel Herron, RB James Wilder Jr., WR Kain Colter, WR Dezmin Lewis, TE Blake Annen and FB Jerome Felton.
Daniel "Boom" Herron's release was amongst the most surprising on offense for Buffalo. With the Bills releasing Karlos Williams earlier in the preseason it seemed like a good possibility Herron would earn a spot on the team as a backup in the running game. He still possess the ability to run someone over and is a capable pass-catching running back so he could potentially get an opportunity with another team.
Daniel Herron signed with the Bills on Thursday.
Herron split time with the Bills and the Colts in 2015 and finished with 79 rushing yards on 25 carries and 47 receiving yards on nine catches. Herron doesn’t bring any fantasy value in 2016, but he is a nice depth signing for the Bills who will compete for a roster spot in training camp. The Bills will rely on LeSean McCoy and Karlos Williams again this season in the backfield.
Dolphins worked out free-agent running back Daniel "Boom" Herron on Monday.
Over the last five seasons, Boom Herron has played for three different teams. He's been solid wherever he's landed but has never been able to advance as an everyday back. His lack of speed and cutting limits him. If he were signed by Miami he would once again be an addition as a backup.
Daniel Heron will serve as the backup to Frank Gore with Ahmad Bradshaw being placed on IR.
The Colts bring back a familiar face to their backfield, Daniel "Boom" Herron is claimed by the Colts on Tuesday. He will immediate jump into the back up running back spot behind Frank Gore. He is obviously familiar with the offense that the Colts run and is very capable.
