Chris Watt

San Diego Chargers - C

Player News

Chargers will waive Chris Watt (knee, PUP) on Tuesday with failed physical designation.

Watt spent the preseason and the first 10 weeks of the season on the PUP list but now has been deemed not healthy enough to play yet. Instead of stringing things along, they have decided to part ways with the 2013 third-round pick. San Diego is pretty well covered at the center spot so they shouldn't miss him terribly. Once he is healthy, he should catch on somewhere on a practice squad.

The Chargers offensive line has simply been decimated by injuries this offseason and preseason. Watt doesn't look like he'll be back for the Chargers any time soon.

Chris Watt (knee) begins camp on PUP list.

Watt had arthroscopic surgery on his knee in June. Considering the injuries he has suffered in his three year career, and the team adding two other centers this offseason, Watt may be on thin ice if he cannot compete in camp, and may become a roster casualty.

Chris Watt (knee) may start training camp on the Physically Unable to Perform list.

A versatile offensive lineman, Watt is someone who the Chargers do not want to be without going forward. Unfortunately it appears as though his procedure is going to keep him out for at least the first six weeks of the season.
