Cary Williams
Player News
Redskins signed CB Cary Williams.
Williams was signed to a three-year deal by the Seahawks in the offseason but failed to live up to expectations and was ultimately benched by Week 11 and cut in early December. The 31-year old has definitely lost a step and was routinely beat downfield, but could give a nice boost to an already struggling Redskins secondary. He may not be used as a starting corner, but Williams should find himself in the mix during defensive packages that load up in the secondary.
The Rams are one of many teams interested in signing Cary Williams.
Seattle signed Williams this offseason to a three-year, $18 million contract which included $7 million in guaranteed money. But Williams was benched in Week 11, scratched the last two weeks and has now been cut. He was picked on in Seattle, and he could well be picked on if he ends up making it on the field wherever he lands.
Seahawks CB Cary Williams went unclaimed on waivers.
Williams can either sign on with the Seahawks practice squad or with any other team. He's now a free agent and not someone fantasy owners should care about.
Seahawks are releasing CB Cary Williams.
He has been a healthy scratch two weeks in a row now and hasn't cracked the starting lineup consistently for Seattle. He has played solidly however and could find interest now that he's available.
