Chiefs released G Ben Grubbs.
A Pro-Bowl selection with Baltimore in 2011 and New Orleans in 2013, Grubbs played in just seven games for Kansas City this past seven games due to a neck injury. The veteran guard apparently failed a physical, leading the Chiefs to part ways with him after the two side agreed to a four-year contract just last year.

After missing the previous five games, OL Ben Grubbs has been placed on Injured Reserve. Grubbs has not made any progress in his rehab and the Chiefs need his roster spot due to his replacement, Jeff Allen dealing with an ankle injury. With the move, Grubbs season is now over for Kansas City this year.

With this news, the Chief G Ben Grubbs will miss his fourth straight game. His neck injury has his status for the rest of the season in doubt but the run game was effective without him in San Diego in Week 11. Monitor his status going forward, but Grubbs will not suit up in Week 12.
