Broncos signed LB Avery Williamson to the practice squad.
Denver will make Williamson's fourth team in the last two seasons. He most recently logged 22 snaps in Weeks 7 and 8 with the Titans before being released. We expect him to eventually play a handful of snaps on the active roster since the Broncos remain decimated in their front-seven.
Steelers acquired ILB Avery Williamson and a 2022 seventh-round pick from the Jets in exchange for a 2022 fifth-round pick.
This is as close to a giveaway as you can come without it actually qualifying. 28-year-old Williamson has played 299 snaps this season after missing Week 1 as he completed his recovery from a torn ACL. He hasn't exactly been "good," but everything is colored by being on the Jets. The ex-Titan has an interception but zero sacks. He will presumably both grade and produce better in an elite defense looking to make up for Devin Bush's lost snaps.
The New York Daily News' Manish Mehta reports the Jets and Steelers are "working towards" completing a trade for ILB Avery Williamson.
The Steelers are two weeks removed from losing Devin Bush to a torn ACL, and the 0-8 Jets are more tanked than ever. Compensation won't be more than a Day 3 pick, but 28-year-old Williamson has been providing decent-ish snaps since returning from a torn ACL of his own. The Jets could trade multiple players over the next 48 hours.
Jets LB Avery Williamson (knee) was ruled out for Week 1 against the Bills.
Williamson still isn't recovered from the ACL tear that cost him all of last season. This matchup continues setting up in Buffalo's favor as the Jets will be without their top-three off ball linebackers in CJ Mosley, Patrick Onwuasor, and Williamson for Week 1.
