According to SNY’s Ian Begley, the Knicks have signed T.J. Warren to an Exhibit 10 contract.
With the Knicks waiving Marcus Morris and Chuma Okeke to free up cap space to absorb Karl-Anthony Towns’ contract, there’s room for another veteran in training camp. Enter Warren, a scoring wing who finished last season in Minnesota. He’ll need to earn a roster spot during camp; if that happens, Warrer would likely receive a deal worth the veteran minimum. He is not a player who fantasy managers should have on their draft boards.
The Minnesota Timberwolves have signed T.J. Warren for the remainder of the season, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania.
Warren will operate as a microwave scorer off the bench for Minnesota, but he’s not worth a look in the realm of fantasy hoops.
The Timberwolves are planning to sign T.J. Warren to a 10-day deal pending a physical, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania.
Warren hasn’t played in the NBA this season, and he most recently appeared in 42 games between the Nets and Suns during the 2022-23 campaign. Warren logged only four games in the 2020-21 campaign and missed all of the following season. In his last healthy campaign (2019-20), he averaged 19.8 points for the Pacers and had a monster performance in the Orlando Bubble, including a 31-point scoring average and career-high 53-point performance against Philly. Injuries have derailed a promising career, but Warren should still be able to provide some microwave scoring off the bench for the first-place Timberwolves. It’s a great move in real life, but it doesn’t make Warren worth an add in fantasy hoops.
The Celtics are planning to meet with T.J. Warren and Lamar Stevens, per The Athletic’s Shams Charania.
The Celtics are looking to add some wing depth, and they’ll meet with both players this week. Neither guy contributed in fantasy last season, with Warren spending time in both Brooklyn and Phoenix, while Stevens played for Cleveland. If either player joins Boston, they’ll provide depth, but they won’t impact the fantasy hoops landscape. Hoops Hype’s Michael Scotto added that Louis King will also work out for the Celtics this week.
