On Saturday, free agent center Robin Lopez said that he would “absolutely consider” playing in Europe next season.
After beginning last season as one of his brother Brook’s backups in Milwaukee, Robin was traded to the Kings in February and subsequently waived. He’s been a free agent since, and while in Slovenia for Goran Dragic’s testimonial game, Lopez said he would consider playing in Europe next season. “I’d absolutely consider it; I know how passionate the fans are and how high the level of basketball is,” Lopez told EuroHoops’ Cesare Milanti. Regardless of what RoLo decides, his status will not impact fantasy basketball in 2024-25.
Robin Lopez has been traded to the Kings and is expected to be waived, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
This move isn’t significant for fantasy hoops in the short term, but Lopez may offer some deep-league value if he lands in the right situation.
Damian Lillard, Malik Beasley, Khris Middleton, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Robin Lopez will start Saturday’s game against the Mavericks.
Twin brother Robin will fill the void in the starting lineup with Brook Lopez sidelined. He may be able to provide rebounds, but there isn’t much upside to be found here. Look for Bobby Portis to play plenty despite coming off the bench.
Robin Lopez has agreed to a deal with the Bucks, per The Athletic’s Shams Charania.
Mascots beware! Lopez was a depth piece for Cleveland last season, and he’ll likely play a similar role for the Bucks. He won’t be providing much in fantasy basketball aside from providing Bucks fans with a new team name now that they have both of the Lopez bros on their roster.
