The Wizards have waived Reggie Jackson.
Jackson was waived hours after the Wizards acquired him from Philadelphia. This allows him to join a team with playoff ambitions, but it will not impact fantasy basketball.
The 76ers have agreed to a trade that will send Reggie Jackson and a 2026 first-round pick to Washington in exchange for Jared Butler and four second-round picks, according to a report from Marc Stein.
This deal is more about swapping picks than players, but Jackson will be another veteran presence in Washington. His role for the 76ers has been insignificant this season, and it is unlikely that he is made a priority on the Wizards. He’ll be able to help rookies Bub Carrington and AJ Johnson learn to play point guard in the NBA.
Reggie Jackson finished Tuesday’s loss to Oklahoma City with four points (2-of-5 FGs), two rebounds, four assists, and one steal in 17 minutes.
The 76ers will start Reggie Jackson, Eric Gordon, Kelly Oubre Jr., Ricky Council IV and Guerschon Yabusele against the Thunder on Tuesday.
