The Knicks will start Miles McBride, Cameron Payne, Mikal Bridges, P.J. Tucker, and Precious Achiuwa against the Nets on Sunday.
Tucker is set to make his first start of the season for the shorthanded Knicks. The 3-and-D forward will likely be asked to carry a heavy workload in the final regular season, but there’s no telling how productive he’ll be given that he’s averaging 1.5 points through two appearances in 2024-25.
PJ Tucker accounted for three pointers (1-of-2 FTs), six rebounds and one three-pointer in 27 minutes in Thursday’s loss to the Pistons.
ESPN’s Shams Charania reports the Knicks are planning to sign P.J. Tucker to a two-year contract.
Tucker was given a second 10-day contract by the Knicks almost two weeks ago, but he’s now set to be with the team through the rest of this season and the playoffs. The contract includes a team option for the 2025-26 season. Tucker isn’t fantasy-relevant at this point in his career, but his style of play fits in with the Knicks franchise, which has consistently been predicated on grit and toughness.
The New York Post’s Stefan Bondy reports that the Knicks are signing P.J. Tucker to a second 10-day contract.
Tucker didn’t record any stats in the two minutes he played against the Spurs on Wednesday. He’s unlikely to impact fantasy basketball anytime soon.
