Hayward resurrected his career with the Charlotte Hornets after suffering a career-threatening leg injury with the Boston Celtics, but ultimately hasn’t been able to stay healthy enough to stay on the court in recent years. He thrived as an elite fantasy option at small forward during his prime and peaked in 2016-17 when he averaged 21.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 3.5 assists during his final season with the Utah Jazz.

Hayward gets the starting nod in place of Josh Giddey, who is sidelined due to a right hip contusion. Cason Wallace, Aaron Wiggins and Isaiah Joe will all see a few extra minutes off the bench, but Hayward should be in for a solid night after scoring 18 points off the bench in their last game.

Hayward missed their last two games with a leg issue, but he was back in the lineup for Wednesday’s game. He has been a solid bench piece for the Thunder since they traded for him, but this was his highest-scoring game since he joined his new squad. Hayward isn’t a player to consider rostering in fantasy, but he will be an important veteran presence for a young Thunder team that is hoping to make some noise in the playoffs. He should be available for their final two games of the regular season before they get a week off to prepare for their first round matchup.

Hayward and Wiliams are available, with the former returning after a two-game absence. Both will come off the bench, limiting their value in active fantasy leagues. Feel free to leave them on the waiver wire.
