Giants signed 1B/OF Travis Ishikawa to a minor league contract, and assigned him to Triple-A Sacramento.

The Giants desperately need depth in the outfield and will bring back Ishikawa who has won two World Series rings with the organization. The 32-year-old was previously with the White Sox this season, but struggled with a slash line of .201/.277/.344. The veteran will hope to regain his stroke in the minors and be a contributor for the Giants at some point this season. However, he doesn’t bring any fantasy value to the table.

White Sox have released Travis Ishikawa.

A .201/.277/.344 line through 175 plate appearances in Triple-A is just not good enough to keep a roster spot with. Ishikawa was a February signing of the White Sox to a minor league deal but now he will look for yet another team to try and catch on with.

Travis Ishikawa was scratched from Monday's lineup for an unknown reason.

Ishikawa was written in in the fifth spot for the White Sox Monday in the DH role but instead will find a spot on the bench to watch the game from while J.B. Shuck takes his spot in the lineup. More should be known about why the move was made later on during the game or even perhaps following the game's conclusion.

Travis Ishikawa has signed a minor league contract with the White Sox.

Ishikawa was slated to be a member of the Mariners with the same type deal less than a month ago but that fell through. He managed to see action in just 44 games in 2015 carrying just a .206/.306/.302 slash line and with the White Sox having very good first base depth already, Ishikawa should be a minor league depth piece for Chicago for much of the season.
