Robinson joined the Braves on a minor-league contract Wednesday.
The 35-year-old has played parts of nine seasons in the majors, hitting a poor .221/.288/.292. He spent last year with Triple-A Lehigh Valley in the Phillies' system and slashed .288/.367/.389, good for an unimpressive 98 wRC+.
Robinson was told Thursday that he won't make the Phillies' roster, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.
Robinson will remain in camp through Monday before heading to minor-league camp. The veteran is unlikely to make a significant impact at the big-league level this season.

The last time Robinson logged positive fWAR was in 2015 with the Twins (0.1). The 34-year-old outfielder will serve as organizational depth for Philadelphia.

Robinson was removed from the 40-man roster after the Yankees traded for Andrew McCutchen on Friday. Unsurprisingly, a 33-year-old who's topped the Mendoza line just once since 2013 didn't make for an appealing waiver claim, so he'll head back to the minors.
