Randy Wolf has retired from baseball.
Wolf finishes his career with a 133-125 record an a 4.24 ERA over 16 years of major league service. A team recently called the southpaw to bring him into camp but was informed that is hanging it up. Good luck to Wolf in his next pursuits.
Randy Wolf allowed six runs (four earned) on seven hits with one walk and three strikeouts over 1 2/3 innings Sunday against the Twins
It’s about time that Wolf gives up on the big leagues, as he has been horrid since joining the Tigers. Through seven starts, Wolf is 0-5 with a 6.68 ERA. At this point, the Tigers season is all but over so they will likely throw him out there for one more start before sending him on his way this offseason.
Randy Wolf went seven innings and gave up three runs on five hits with four walks and six strikeouts on Monday in the second game of the Tigers' doubleheader.
Wolf has pitched admirably since coming to the organization in late August, but has yet to pitch a win. He had a nice start on Monday, but walks too many guys and is too hittable to be a reliable start in fantasy playoffs.
Randy Wolf labored through three innings in Sunday’s 9-2 win over the Indians, allowing two runs on four hits and four walks while striking out three.
At first glance, Wolf’s line through three innings on Sunday did not appear all that bad. However, with a deeper look, it becomes clear that the 39-year-old lefty was struggling mightily with command and likely on the verge of blowing up. Wolf needed a whopping 93 pitches (55 strikes) to get through three frames, as he issued four free passes and threw a couple of wild pitches during the brief outing. Wolf is way off the fantasy radar in all formats, especially going into his next scheduled start against the Royals.
